rickk Yes, click on my siggy for Note 8 links Refer to CivZ-SphereXtreme+TWRP+XXCMK1+TriangleAway2.90 You can stay on stock kernel if you want, but if you want improved battery life and fix for S-PEN alignment, you should go to XDA and check out CivZ-SphereXtreme kernel. I don't use custom ROMs but if I did, I would choose "CivZ-FLEX-BEAM-REV3.0"

QUOTE(kamikraze @ Aug 8 2015, 02:19 AM) So I've use Odin to flash stock 4.2 2 rom, still the problem of /efs persist (appear on stock Recovery menu). Now dowloading 4.4.2 wanna see how. The note 8.0 still got warranty till this Nov, should I just send to them to repair? Will they accept the unit as the counter already been counted? If EFS just corrupted like that without anything being done, should be hardware/storage related failure already I think. Even if you had managed to fix the partition (recreate partition and remount), it would be temporary If it was under warranty, then should not have tried to fix it by flashing... as no way to reset the counter unless you managed to fully boot up and run TriangleAway... best thing now is to send for warranty claim and claim ignorance of counter... (ask your sis to blame brother loh if really get asked about the counter)

QUOTE(kamikraze @ Aug 21 2015, 12:37 PM) Now I got 2 unit Note 8.0 which I sold to my sisters, which having same problem, begin with blinking screen, later on, bootloop at Samsung logo. Both are about to be sent to Samsung Service Centre. Idk if they manage to claim the warranty as 1 unit got counter, another no counter yet. Now I'm waiting for their feedback. I tried everything on net on how to fix the issue, and I can't really solve as, Idk what was really happeend to the Note 8.0 before the problem happened. I suspect Samsung tried to update firmware and both of my sis click "OK". Wish you good luck then for the warranty! You could be right on the OTA updates causing it... Being a user of multiple Samsung products now, I always prefer to flash the new stock ROM myself (using ODIN pc version) rather than do OTA updates due to the chances of things going wrong (Always hear of it happening especially on Samsung phones). And using ODIN pc version doesn't increment the counter if flashing stock ROM.
