This morning when i woke up, noticed my note was downloading something by its own and in fact it was 4.2.2! My note is not rooted.

Noticed its faster and Dolphin browser work better and doesnt hang esp when jn The Malaysian Insider website.

Not the pop up note.

Previously when I detach the S Pen or attach an earphone, special page will be available. For S Pen special page, it will show S Note widget and at the bottom page is the lists of 6 normally use apps for S Pen or earphone (ex. S Pen page - S Note, Draw Some ....etc.). For me, this function really helpful but with the new update, this function gone already.

try to check setting.

Tips for those have not OTA upgraded to 4.2.2 but want to keep root:

1. Root your Note 8 (4.1.2) (original firmware) using Framaroot if have not done so.
2. Install Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper and run it. Select to keep root.
3. Then OTA upgrade to 4.2.2.
4. Run Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper and restore your root.

That's how I get back my root in 4.2.2.

Unable to play some live streams eg. Streamago bbc, cnn after ota updates to 4.2.2 yesterday.
Tried a few browsers that support flash (internet, boat n firefox) but after awhile closes n returns to home screen.

My other devices still on 4.1.2 have no problem playing those live streams.

as stated, framaroot didn't work, updated before confirming it

auto cf root works though, but had to install superSU separately. Superuser app does not work with cf root, only superSU

mine oledi use triangle away, on recovery all shows official but status in about device shows custom

Mine device status still official as I haven't flash anything yet..lolz
Only root and use Titanium to backup all the apps and freeze or uninstall certain bloatwarez

You need to factory reset to get official status..IINM
And you need to stay on stock rom and kernel.

so far this update didn't bring much new contents, but it seems fixed the chrome calibration problem

Most significant difference is the much improved battery life..

I cannot update it. It said 4.1.2 is the latest. Howw come? OTA can update already?

Maybe a few days...last time on Note N7000 too, everybody got the update, but I didn't. Just wait, It'll come...
