QUOTE(andyting @ Jan 24 2013, 09:16 AM) Hey guys, i got a very weird scenario here. Last week my note 2 reboot itself and stuck at the logo screen for no reason and cant even boot into recovery mode, plus the my screen will have white flash occasionally going on. So i send it fot warranty and they give me a one for one unit exchange, which means a totally new model. However, i just realise that at the storage space, it shows free storage 5.36GB only instead of 11GB something for a 16GB model. Any one has any idea for this weird scenario? Dont tell me they change the whole internal memory for me and tell me is a new phone=.= but i checked the IMEI and it is indeed a new phone. Try factory reset and check againIf still shows same it just means the unit is a refurbished set and the emmc partitions was destroyed previously and reassigned to only 8 gb |

QUOTE(andyting @ Jan 24 2013, 10:00 AM) just did a factory reset, still shows the same. is there any way i can fix it myself? like flashing a new ROM or repartition it back to 16GB? or imy only solution is to send it back to the shop ONly service centre can do itLooks like your EMMC partitions were destroyed and left only 8gb My friend previous Note ( not Note 2) similar situation. His was AP set and his spolied partitions was deactivated and left only 8 gb. He accepted it as he did not want to spend money replacing the internal memory as warranty expired |

Why some users still so obessed with OTAupdates
Whether root or unroot easiest just download from sammobile.com n flash in PC using odin Your phone will auto unroot if rooted Once official update out it will be available too at sammobile No need to go through frustration of update failure midway or waiting for it n no idea when you can get it |

So...HTC demands a dev to remove all custom roms using the Sense UI http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1...even_my_custom/ http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/01/24/ht...oms-and-domain/ HTC has generally left the custom ROM community to its own devices, apart from individuals who actively sought to publish unreleased HTC software. This has allowed a thriving Sense ROM community to emerge on XDA, RootzWiki, and other hubs of developer collaboration. But the shuttering of HTCRUU may be a shift to a stance of more active policing for the company. The shutdown resulted in the removal of all files from HTCRUU, whether stock or custom Sense-based ROMs, and the eventual transferring of the domain to HTC (on grounds of trademark infringement). Any such files in temporary storage (eg, http://androidfiles.org/ruu/) must also be cleared out. ====================== Some of the comments are insightful. Apparently this is not the first PR f/up (for the dev community at least) that HTC has made. Samsung hasn't gone down this route ... yet ... we only hope they never. Success can bring hubris. [/quote] Possible Samsung will follow too. Seriously how many users bother to flash n mod their phones . 5%, 10% probably that is the limit At least in my circle of friends 99%of them dont . They just use it right out of the box. Here we see enthusiasts but in reality majority dont even know they can mod it. Phone UI is proprietary to each manufacturer n stopping all mods to it is their right A few % of users will be dissapointed only |
