Picked up a book called "The Cult of Lego" @ MPH today. Really interesting and they talking about the Lego history and how the simple bricks influence millions in this world. This is nice... a tribute to all AFOLs  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

btw, 1 of the seller is really slow in replying massage or emails  rclxub.gif

I've dealt with a shop who is also slow in replying messages, but his price was among the lowest so I guess it's a trade off la. You can't have everything in life laugh.gif

Btw, about the stand for the Batwing, why not take inspiration from the 2006 Batwing set that comes with a stand and MOC your own one biggrin.gif That's what I'm considering

dark force is too strong, difficult to resist..  sweat.gif

hmm...i got a few noob questions...
1. let's say u bought a nice set, how do u open it?
a. just simply tear it open n throw the box?
b. open carefully by using a knife to peel/cut the glue thing?
c. heat gun or assorted method to keep everything nicely?
d. others. pls share

2. what do u do with the box later?
a. throw (garbage)
b. keep it in ori state, use plastic bag to wrap it (keep it dust free)
c. throw (in ur store room/utility room)
c. flatten it, keep it nicely in storage box/etc?
d. others. pls share
*
Open nicely and keping the boxes for now in those brown shipping boxes from my overseas orders laugh.gif

QUOTE(aba9785 @ Jan 15 2013, 01:09 PM)
wah...more poison... better to order online or wait for popular to bring it in? hmm.gif
actually i need to thank you a lot...
u manage to 'convert' me into MOC ( still learning)
still 'sourcing' parts from various brickmaster book n BL.
haha...i think we all face this problem..
unless we custom build a cabinet in our house...
1 part to store bricks, 1 to store the box
something like this... (source from internet)

Those storage boxes ain't cheap man, I rather spend the money on Lego tongue.gif

actually the breakdown is RM566 for series 1 and RM991 for series 2 to 6.
the postage cost is included with the offer price.

user posted image

i did some calculation. so for series 1, it's RM35.38 per minifig
and for series 2 to series 6, it's RM12.39 per minifig.
*
I plan to get S2 to S5 from this seller too but later, will skip S1 as it's too expensive. Did he give u a discount for buying so many sets?

Like I learned from the TF thread, buy first, regret later!  laugh.gif Quite ok the price I saw around here.

I saw someone got the golden dragon already... another impulse buy for me. This is to supplement my original 4 dragons.

Some old photos which I still have

seems his price is competitive for set  rclxms.gif

Me! This is the store that I said among the lowest prices but slow communication from seller laugh.gif

If you're thinking to buy from them, I still would recommend. Even their 2013 sets are the cheapest so far!

Here's a totally n00b question - how do you guys take care of your minifigures? Do you guys actually play with your sets or just take them out for photoshoots?

As I have mentioned before, I'm a collector and I take really good care of my collectibles (or at least I TRY to!). I'm concerned about the printing on the figures (since they are so valuable). How do you prevent your minifigures from getting scratched up or damaged (loose arms or legs - think it's happened to my old LEGO before)? Do you spray it with clear spray or something to protect the paint/printing?

Long story short, how do you prevent this from happening .......

user posted image

The pic is a key-chain which belongs to my friend (if you're a member of this forum, sorry MC! biggrin.gif) and the extent of the damage is probably due to keys/coins scratching it up in the pocket/purse. But you get the picture .......
*
I think that minifig kena some sort of chemical, else I don't think it will become like that due to just scratches.

Best way to preserve your Lego is to keep it dust free, nothing else!

I have a Technic set from 1994, kept it in a display cabinet most of the time. Until now the stickers still looks new and have no signs of peeling off!

the price of Lego might have been roughly the same over the years in the US, but not in Malaysia doh.gif
Nevertheless, it was a very good read. The source links below about why Lego almost went bankrupt are also very good!
