Picked up a book called "The Cult of Lego" @ MPH today. Really interesting and they talking about the Lego history and how the simple bricks influence millions in this world. This is nice... a tribute to all AFOLs

hmm...i got a few noob questions...
1. let's say u bought a nice set, how do u open it?
a. just simply tear it open n throw the box?
b. open carefully by using a knife to peel/cut the glue thing?
c. heat gun or assorted method to keep everything nicely?
d. others. pls share

2. what do u do with the box later?
a. throw (garbage)
b. keep it in ori state, use plastic bag to wrap it (keep it dust free)
c. throw (in ur store room/utility room)
c. flatten it, keep it nicely in storage box/etc?

actually the breakdown is RM566 for series 1 and RM991 for series 2 to 6.
the postage cost is included with the offer price.



i did some calculation. so for series 1, it's RM35.38 per minifig
and for series 2 to series 6, it's RM12.39 per minifig.

Two days and already 200+ posts?!   Like all the Lego tycoons all come out from their Lego bunker. I saw someone bought a huge CMF lot from Series 1 to 9, really tabik you man since it is expensive to do so!
Like I learned from the TF thread, buy first, regret later!  Quite ok the price I saw around here.

I saw someone got the golden dragon already... another impulse buy for me. This is to supplement my original 4 dragons.

Am I  the only one that use lego for their home DIY needs?

btw this is a desperate attempt since im not a drill person , so I dare not damage the wall to install fittings. However.. below is literally a "drill" on how I prop up my TV booster against the wall .

Here's a totally n00b question - how do you guys take care of your minifigures? Do you guys actually play with your sets or just take them out for photoshoots?

As I have mentioned before, I'm a collector and I take really good care of my collectibles (or at least I TRY to!). I'm concerned about the printing on the figures (since they are so valuable). How do you prevent your minifigures from getting scratched up or damaged (loose arms or legs - think it's happened to my old LEGO before)? Do you spray it with clear spray or something to protect the paint/printing?

Long story short, how do you prevent this from happening .......



The pic is a key-chain which belongs to my friend (if you're a member of this forum, sorry MC! ) and the extent of the damage is probably due to keys/coins scratching it up in the pocket/purse. But you get the picture .......
