QUOTE(darklight79 @ Mar 22 2006, 11:27 PM) Why do you say it's not good? I went to check it out today. err my bro told me that their machine sux, got limit 1, cannot put too much weight..karat 1, will produce unwanted sound when using it. haha n using those heavy dumbbell wont give u all round muscle building, that is why the machine are there for, or else, who is the stup*d idiot who go n build those machine?....and the evironment just sux, too stuffy.A good gym doesn't mean having fancy new gleaming machines. It's about having a power rack, dip stand and heavy fixed dumbells which are more than 100 pounds. That's what constitutes a good gym. It doesn't matter if the equipment is old, the heavy weights are there, and that's what builds muscle. This post has been edited by psyeo: Mar 23 2006, 06:26 AM |

haha, u wont want to try my bro, my younger bro infact.....he is a martial art freak, i'm not that into it, but i still train..n i didnt say that dumbell cant build muscle, infact i have 3 of it in my home. anyway ya u're rite my bro aren't that muscular, coz we focus more in strength than building muscles, as it is not suitable for taekwondo practitioner n most of other martial art to be that big in size

QUOTE(darklight79 @ Mar 23 2006, 04:31 PM) We're not talking about how "good" someone is in martial arts. u still didnt get what i mean, i'm saying that Gan boon leong Gym's environment just SUX(anyway i'm a fren of his grandchild, whcih is quite big in size too, similar to his grand dad) u cant work out properly if the place is too stuffy, have u try out Renaissance gym then? they have weight for u to carry too. go n ask who that have trainned in Renaissance Fitness Centre liks to go to GBL's GYM. ya, i know nuts about muscle building, but i'm just not going to train there, even though it is cheap. n in ur 1st post, u say old n solid, nah..the machine got limit 1, cannot use to the maxWe're talking about bodybuilding here. My thread started is bodybuilding. YOur bro may be a martial artist, let's see him try pressing 90 pound dbs up for shoulder presses. As for the statements you told me your bro made, it's obvious he does not know much about gym work, nor do you. No one's disputing the fact that your bro might be a good martial artist, but i seriously doubt the validity of your brother's knowledge in bodybuilding. Do you even know what CNS force proprioreception is? Or do you need to do some reading first? This post has been edited by psyeo: Mar 23 2006, 04:41 PM |

QUOTE(darklight79 @ Mar 24 2006, 02:12 PM) I see you editd your post. hey dude, u c the time i edit my post...i just feel that i didnt write enuff there so i just add in, i didnt edit it because i saw ur reply....n i'm not talking about machine all the time( i just use machine as an example to show how sux is the gym), i'm talking about the overall evironment....n about the muscle n power stuff, i dont even want to waste my time to go n read about it as i'm not majoring in this stuf, i got better things to do..You said in your previous post that your brother said dumbells aren't enough for all round muscle building. And now you're switching your arguments. Dude, I saying again, I'm talking about bodybuilding, NOT martial arts. I'm talking about training for hypertrophy, muscular hypertrophy, not sarcoplasmic hypertrophy. Go and read more about the relation of strength, size and power before you come back and debate with me. man, if i were in Malacca now, i can bring u to renaissance fitness centre for free....too bad i'm not....sigh~~ n ur topic state there 'GYM' n u emphasize on it dude. u didnt say anything about muscle building, so what is ur point of opening this thread? to share info rite? i have the right to give my opinion too n it is even better if i can introduce ppl to a gym with better equipment (dumbell, barbells n machine) u should follow me next time when i'm back to what I call a 'GYM'...n do u know that u use many words that are impolite? mind ur words boy, u are still new to My place (malacca) so I'm here to give my oppinion as a Malaccan. PEACE dude gotta continue my assignment, so probably i wont reply ur post in such a short time This post has been edited by psyeo: Mar 24 2006, 02:47 PM |

QUOTE(almostthere @ Mar 24 2006, 08:11 PM) You should be ashamed of yourself for derailing this topic. What's your problem till you have to act very offensive huh? hmm....so i'm the 1 who are wrong here...sigh~~ sorry then, I thought i was just stating my oppinion there about GYM in Malacca, Maybe I went a little too far..oh ya do u know Melaka Tong Bee Sdn. Bhd. ? maybe u wont know about it, but a generation older than us should know it....if u know Ramada, then u should know about our family All he's saying that the gym's a nice place to work out. You don't like Gan Boon Leong? Don't patronise him then. And who's your family? Tell me, let me go and have chat with them about your arrogance. Half-Melakan here and I do know a lot of people here. So becareful about brandishing your status. This post has been edited by psyeo: Mar 24 2006, 09:14 PM |
