QUOTE(sebrina @ Jun 26 2010, 01:41 PM) Hey Erein, thanks for the info. Are u a huawei staff?or in the telco industry? I would like to be involved in projects now after 1.5 year working in support line. Based on my experience,is it possible they will send me for overseas projects? Also, how's the overseas allowance like? All cost included? Meals, accomodation, air tick? Does huawei pay well? Actually AP is divided to SP and SEA Erein, make sure u applied for SP or SEA or Global, don remember what the department is called edi...last time there's one guy who got employed for Telenor project..send to Norway... If ur in SEA then it's heavy travelling...sometimes 10 months per year..u can go one whole year if u want to

In dxlethal86 footsteps im gonna write my testimonial too...
I joined Huawei about 5 months ago as a product engineer in SEA region. Been posted to few countries..usually 2 months a stretch, go back Malaysia rest for few days den get posted to another country again..in the beginning it sounds great, being able to travel for work purposes, experience different culture but after a while it gets boring, homesick even sometimes, but part of the job...working with the chinese sometimes can be frustrating, knowledge in reading and writing chinese is definitely important as u need to communicate with HQ alot..i can't read and write chinese and verbally not very good too...but still surviving...
workload is definitely alot..especially if it's peak season and alot of tenders coming in, for my department ot is available if u work from 11pm-3am...weird right.
anyway this job is much better den my first job which is in a telco sub-con company....to those who wanna join, be prepared to be assaulted by chinese work culture

QUOTE(neotv @ Nov 8 2010, 11:53 PM) read through the entire topic, the key word that got my attention is.. long working hours.. just wondering, how long is long? in particularly in MRO shared/managed services? what is the job security like.. for contractual employees? I think if you're doing tender projects den be prepared for very long working hours. Over the weekend, less than 5 hours of sleep in 3 days..stuff like that
