QUOTE(s3xy4ss @ Oct 6 2011, 08:50 PM) I dont think that is a problem. My chinese speaking is way basic with mix of english and cantonese, with 0% chinese reading ability, Huawei still consider my application. Surviving i am not sure, i just gone through the department interviews but i think surviving is not a problem as i can see some other races are also working with huawei and some are with no chinese background. BTW, what position did you apply too? i'm actually a soon-to-be fresh grad with a telco degree from a local uni. just going through my future career options. trying to get some perspective. it's good to know that i'll be consider. i happened to find out that certain companies would prefer male engineers than female, which is kind of devastating for me (hint).haha. so how was the interview process? did they give u a hard time on those technical questions?

Hi,
I got call for my first interview with Huawei for the position of Product Engineer. Based on previous posts, I notice how the first interview is a technical interview. Any tips and guidance for the first interview?
I've heard that getting a spot to be a permanent staff in Huawei is difficult. Also, working environment there could be rather stressful and overload with projects. But I was wondering how are the colleagues in Huawei, are they overall helpful and friendly?
Another thing I am really concern about is that I'm a total 'banana' and my mandarin speaking skills is just up to par with a kindergarten kid. Needless to say, I total can't read Chinese. Will this be a problem during interview?? Most importantly, would it really post any huge problems during work?

QUOTE(diudiusing @ Nov 2 2013, 09:52 AM) 1) you need to understand huawei background and show off your expertise during your interview, made them impress 2) colleagues are not so helpful, many peoples are busy to handle their task. You need be independent. 3) mandarin writing in huawei is important. speaking is still ok. You need learn to read chinese, many emails from HQ is in chinese form, it will be a very big challenge for you. Thank you. I guess I will go for my interview and see how everything goes. After all I am a fresh graduate so I guess I have a lot to learn.
