I am with FORZA an Australian headhunting and executive search firm for the last 2 years, and before this i was working in Huawei as a Recruiter HQ in KL recruiting both for Malaysia and APAC as well, mostly for Huawei Malaysia candidates to go abroad on projects for APAC and also for global recruits as when required.
There is pros and cons working for Telco companies, you might hear or read of all sort of horror stories of company not expanding, cutting down headcounts and all, business gone bad ans bla bla bla... trust me, i have been in the recruitment industry for more than 6 years now, and one thing i have to make it clear to you is......
you cant compare a company to a another company of different background and culture and its economic growth, I say this is because you can never know what is going to happen with the current economy as there is no guarantee.
of the 4 major vendors in Malaysia, Huawei is the youngest of over 20 yrs of operations whereby the others has more than 50 years of history, they has just hit our land less than 10 yrs so lots to learn and improve and they are doing it day by today, i have close friends still working in there, if its not a good company i am sure everyone will be running right?
i did not have a Degree and i was rejected by them 3 times, i submitted again i didnt care, i was determined, i am Malay, i cant read Mandarin
I wanted Huawei because i know what i wanted, i wanted to have Asia Pacific recruitment experience to further help with my career growth
so its really depends on what you want...ya..sharing information is good, but dont be judgmental, u dont need that, its an opportunity for all to have certain exposure and experience.
I always tell the candidates who comes for an interview whether it is Huawei or not, never compared or have negative setbacks of the company, u come for the interview with a clear mission of what u want, is it the APAC exposure that you are looking for? is it a job opportunity, salary hike, fresh grad or you on a job shopping spree? you ask yourself
oh ya.. i am recruiting for various roles as well you may submit your resumes to me at dnorzana.forza.com.au or go to our website at www.forza.com.au.
Cheers,
no offense, i am just sharing my thoughts.
