QUOTE(buysellaccount @ Jan 13 2013, 04:13 AM) my cousin used to have arguments with her then boyfriend about not having a car/driving license. "if your kids are sick next time what are you going to do? hope the taxi guy come quick enough to fetch your kids in the middle of the night before their brains are fried by high fever?" I don't have any kids Anyway, GF has a car

being rich for appearance
and
being rich for self satisfaction
----
i am more concerns about self satisfaction,
I used to care how people view me till higher secondary school, but once I proved that I this much capable ... from then onward, I dont mind how people see me.
but still, the self satisfaction may relate to other people
for example, some people feel happy when helping other, which I dont have such feeling since primary school ...lol

Money is absolutely essential ..but once u have passed a certain threshold, money is not that important anymore..things are that are most important in life to us are family, friends, life experiences, doing what you love, being true to yourselves..all the money in the world cannot bring back a lost loved one..or to undo your regrets..
Imagine ur on ur deathbed...self reflecting on your life...do u think u would regret for not doing the things that truly matter to u or would u regret like 'if I had just 5 more years to live,I could have made more money..damn'

some people earn money but never spend the money they earned so the money ends up being only a number in their account.
some people spend more than they earn and the things that they own end up owning them.
Just a food for thought. I believe a balance in life is crucial and it applies to everything.

"if your kids are sick next time what are you going to do? hope the taxi guy come quick enough to fetch your kids in the middle of the night before their brains are fried by high fever?" One can reply, "then you should do a better job and don't let the kids have high fever!!" QUOTE(TSOM @ Jan 13 2013, 04:38 AM) That depends a lot on who u are...some ppl are happy driving a Volvo..some cannot..they must be driving at least a Porsche..some must go for 5 star cruise liner or Europe for a holiday...some are happy lepaking at Hong Kong, pulau redang,Bangkok etc..some must eat in an air con restaurant preferably Michelin starred..some are happy with eating ming gei roast pork cha Siew fan or nasi lemak at sea park or village park... You can't pinpoint an exact figure..u need to find ur own threshold...but the point is..do u really really need to believe that without earning so and so a month I cannot be happy?

Depends on what you do to get the 5 figure pay. I'm not exactly happy here, but it's not that bad.
