on the using DS4 controller part, i can see why - the UI is quite console-ish....
but for me - i'll try to stick wif keyboard + mouse combo for now...
although i noticed the movement is like gta v....wobbly...not firm like skyrim...

for the DLC, i think u may have misunderstood me.
in previous post, Ronzph, has posted the link to the dlc. following the link i managed to download the dlc...
but when i tried to find it myself at gog.com, (before clicking the posted link)...i cant find it in my library...nor it is posted at the gog.com mainpage....so i was wondering where was it located....

although after some digging now, i find it under the 'NEW' list...listed as one of the 'new' game released... doh.gif
one have to manually click at the 'NEW' link to see it....

Welp, those who wants to use the DS4, you're in luck - http://gamingbolt.com/witcher-3-ps4-wont-r...-support-for-pc

Got in to play last night. For Just 2-3Hour of gameplay, Everything so far is going very well. The Pacing is very nice and I like how Geralt analyze the situation before actually going in for the kill. Kinda feel like Batman or Snake But in Medieval Era. Only issue is performance is taking its toll since im using GTX760. I turn on the Hairworks cause I dig the visual XD
*
If you absolutely want hairworks, please change the hairworksmsaa to 0, at least then you should have 40+ fps.

Big patch in coming, should be here before the end of next week -
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-05-...e-issue-head-on

Better late than never. AMD needs to hurry up with their Witcher 3 game ready driver and Nvidia needs to come out with a new beta to further improve HairWorks performance.... as well as ungimping Kepler cards, but that's off topic.

Also, CDPR has finally admitted on their mistakes. As long as they roll out the updates and keep improving the game like they did before, they're forgiven.

I bolded the important ones.

*EDIT*
One important note, for those who are using custom tweaks to the user.settings ini and other files in the bin section, MAKE SURE you uncheck read-only for the files that you've edited. The patch makes changes in the bin files location, so as an extra meassure, you should just replace them to their default states (this is why it is important to make a backup!).

+1 but i jus worried wif the new graphic improvement, my fps may drop further forcing me to reduce the graphic setting, which in the end negate the updates...

btw...did anyone commented yet how witcher3 geralt looks different compare to the first two witcher. he's face is now more angular...

triss face has been changed in witcher2 but geralt face shape remains then... hmm.gif
*
Well, they are optimizing to make the game look better AND perform better.

Played 3 hours this morning with 1.03 patch, stability wise the game is pretty much similar to 1.02. I have seen that the inventory crash has not been fixed yet.

Hairworks performs marginally better, not enough to make it entirely playable yet, unless you want to lock to 30fps. They did not change the AA for hairworks though, it's still the same.

Cutscenes are definitely a lot less stuttery though, it's still not fixed completely yet. Disabling ubersampling for Cutscenes is still recommended.

wow...nice mod for the graphic improvement.

anyone tried it out yet? how do u disable the mod if need be?
*
Remove it or disable sweetfx, it's just a toggle.

Currently I think the best preset is K-putt or SS, they do not desaturate the colors too much and still keep the tone of the game. However neither of these presets are 100% stable yet, they can crash the game and in some instances make enemies have a wrong color palette. It's quite uncommon, but I've seen several screenies on reddit and neogaf about it.

The cineFX mod is nice, but does have a performance hit whereas kputt and SS doesn't. Also patch 1.03 has broken the cineFX preset as well, wait for an update.

I don't think I'm so into the whole sweetfx thing this time though, at least not right now. Probably after the first major patch, only then I will go into one of them.

Does anyone encounter character not loaded properly? have one time i encounter is vesemir shown only head and his 2 sword. Im guessing might have been my GPU not loading fast enough since only 2GB DDR5..

Try to set TextureBudgetMemory value to 1024 at the very least in the user.settings.bak in Documents > Witcher 3. The default 800 (which is the game's Ultra value) is silly low.

I have it at 2048 and there is significantly less slow texture streaming, but it can still crop up. Thinking to raise it further, although it seems to cap out beyond 1800.

lucky already practise damn hard on a game like bloodborne , easily evade enemy like a bos lol
*
Yeah, coming from Bloodborne, Witcher 3 is a cake walk. Bloodborne kind of spoiled gaming's difficulty, more than Dark Souls did.

For me it just like Photoshop - but in real time. Still using my own settings, good enough - checked several other people's presets here's comparison:

Yours is actually looking pretty damn good! thumbup.gif
Like it better than K-putt's! Are you releasing your preset soon?

Probably increase gamma just a tad bit, that's all I can think of. Otherwise I think you're set!

Yea mine is really lacking some "darkness" in comparison  hmm.gif  Need to work on that.
File in my Google drive for now.
*
Alright nice. I'll try it out later in the weekend. I think the darkness of your shadow isn't too bad, it just needs a little bit more balance. I don't think you should make it too dark though, because like for example 1000's time better (rainguyen right?) is pretty much unplayable in some of the darker dungeons later on in the game! It's just too damn dark!

It's also an issue with CineFX. I think K-putt and SS are equal in very dark areas for now.

Will the steam overlay disturb sweetfx?  hmm.gif

Yes, disable steam overlay if you are going to use sweetFX.

same thought here as well - wait for that one major probably final patch...

btw...any tips on making more crowns/orens....damm im broke. especially when imma kind, soft-hearted witcher doh.gif
i wish i could do the crafting myself for foc...
*
Well... it's an exploit, but it's easy:

This WILL break the game though, you will not enjoy it as it was intended to be anymore. You're a witcher, not a noble. Suppose to be poor.

The only thing about the investigation thing is that, I feel it can start to get tedious eventhough it makes absolute sense. I'm still fine with it currently though.

so they dumb down the potion making? just need to craft it once, then only refill using alcohol. and can straight use it from inventory.

though still busy farming the herbs like crazy in this game XD
*
Yup. For the sake of convenience.

But on the other hand, the amount of people who used alchemy in W1 and W2 were an extreme minority. Most people went hack and slash, forgeting the fact that the Witcher isn't a DMC game. They needed a way where potions will be easy to use, whenever and wherever.

yup noticed that too...
but i like the skin...

anyway...
there is v4 already uploaded yesterday...
in v3 i can see the blue hue quite strong now on v4 tone down a bit...
also less sharpening...

the vid...

much better than v3...
more close to E3 than before...
*
I would take the preset and tone down the blue-hue a few more steps. It's really not bad though.

I'm still using K-putt's preset with a little less gamma and a higher level of SMAA though.

a bit out-of-topic here...but would like to hear your explanation on the 30fps vs 60fps topic...
is there really a difference?

from what i gather, there is input lag...
*
Yes there is a significant difference.
From gameplay alone, the input lag going from 30fps to 60fps is instantly noticeable. Everything is more fluid, everything is more responsive. Those who want to disagree with this is just trolling.

Now as for seeing, there is still a debate on this as people seem to believe that our eyes can't see past 30fps (lol our eyes aren't measured in frames). But I do clearly understand that not everyone can comprehend and track motion the same exact way. It's just like how there are people who can see objects moving at a high speed but yet some people can't.

Another way to put it is if you take a look at those hyper slow motion videos from sports or even channels like The Slow Mo guys on YT, if they were to shoot a scene at 30fps and play it back at half speed at 15fps to achieve slow motion, all you will see is choppiness and stutter. Shooting a scene at 60fps and putting it down to 30fps and things are different! So yeah, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. Obviously they shoot at insane speeds to achieve that glorious 'bullet time' effect.

In games, we play and interact with the controls. You don't watch a game, you play it hence 24fps games are stupid. 60fps isn't making a game twice faster than a 30fps game, but 60fps makes the game more responsive, more fluid, and overall just more engrossing.

QUOTE(Darkz01 @ May 25 2015, 04:53 PM)
so meaning just craft again multiple times??
*
QUOTE(AeonixG @ May 25 2015, 04:58 PM)
yeah im kinda confuse about this one too. I didnt even know you can upgrade an existing armor to even change it's appeal. Does this only apply to specific armor sets?
*
No, you need to find the diagrams first for which specific witcher school you want to use as your set. Then the blacksmith level needs to be high enough to upgrade your witcher gears.

QUOTE(memphiz_zero88 @ May 25 2015, 05:10 PM)
i already dismantle the witcher armor set .___.
*
The only gear you should keep are the Witcher gear. Never ever dismantle/sell them, otherwise you need to get the materials to craft them again (though it isn't that difficult to so).
