Wooohoooo! Let me start off by saying.. I just called Maxis CS less than a minute ago regarding the 30gb cap and they said this is supposed to be imposed since November 2012. That said, if we do actually exceed it, for legacy 99 users will still maintain their uncapped speed (not sure how true this is), but the notification of the 30gb will still be there and also in most cases, all plans are unlimited now with their new policy.. Whether or not our speeds will be capped, will truly need someone to test this out. I know for sure, my parents would help me bust my 30gb in no time.. cuz today alone, they have watched 3gb away on PPS.... If I DO exceed the quota, I will update you guys whether my speed has been throttled down.

I'm not that far behind.. mine is currently 4.3gb LOL! In fact, I only used 300mb today at most.. the rest is thanks to PPS streaming

Yeah, he told me I'm (don't know what EPP or EPVP or PVP.. don't even know what he said) unlimited user so, even if exceed.. will not get throttled down..

Legacy plan is/was a plan offered by Maxis previously (I subscribed mine in 2007-2008) which was for unlimited data. It was before they implemented FUP and later omitted the plan from their charts. For those existing subscribers, Maxis were to honor them by letting them keep their RM99 plans while newer users are subjected to the FUP based plans.

Haha bro you read my mind. Yes I checked with them regarding LTE but it's only offered for new Maxis broadband signups. They are not sure if the SIM cards they're issuing out is compatible with our modems (in most cases, it will be haha) and their LTE is currently not compatible with phones. I did bring up that if I were to use one of my multi-SIMs with a compatible LTE modem, will I be eligible.. unfortunately we cannot upgrade. Likewise stated, typical Maxis strategy.. if you wish to use their new LTE package, you will need to terminate your existing broadband package, and signup a new LTE broadband plan. So, hopefully.. Maxis could implement LTE with voice quick, so that it's compatible with our phones. That way, maybe we could opt for an upgrade? Due to the fact that our unlimited plan is actually tied to Maxis 3G, not WBB.. Maxis LTE is so far only offered as WBB..

Oops, edited my earlier post.. yeah.. chuahcs is right. The reason why I didn't mention about LTE because it's not relevant to our thread. That aside, I would not forego my existing plan for LTE at the moment.. need more confirmation regarding what I signed up for (in this case, the legacy plan).. gonna see if I can bust it and get throttled or not haha..

Very true, but I was thinking in the lines of.. activating LTE with a fee, on an existing plan. More like a top-up.. haha But I guess in most cases, this is not an option. Unless, can find an inside guy to do it for you

That's the difference in freedom of speech in the States hahaha. Ballsy move but they have the right to do so

If indeed legacy users also affected, really need to escalate the issue.. My total used data is around 7gb so far..

Have you tried calling to Maxis to clarify on this? Likewise, they said legacy users should not be capped / throttled down after the limit is breached.

Trying to lol.. but today I've been stuck the whole day with meetings and it seems my data is still hovering around the 6.7gb mark. Will see if there's anything I can download later..

My kiasu side made me tell the old folks to watch less dramas on PPS.. maybe I should ask them to watch whole night tonight LOL! They totally stopped watching, thus why my used data wasn't hiking at all today.. maybe let them watch kaw kaw + I do some downloads.. cuz I have no idea what to download right now haha
