If Maxis is gonna to implement the quota thing, say good bye to my good old legacy plan, it'll become a true legacy status and it only remains in my memory.

And give me a reason to ditch wireless plan and go for Unifi lol.

Looks like it is.

And just notice Streamyx has launched 8Mbps, fortunately my area is in within UniFi, Streamyx 8Mbps and Maxis Fibre Home. hmm.gif

Sifu Digilife has assured to me that this quota thing won't effect legacy users, and looks like things aren't going pretty despite what he said so. ohmy.gif

Yeah just hope it's a temp maintenance just like last time.

Btw bought MR3420 yesterday instead of the MikroTik router that u recommend. Dunno whether I should feel happy or not, if bought the MikroTik router and Maxis does implement the quota, u should buy the router from me with the exact same price that I bought. cool2.gif

there was time like that before where quota was implemented during network maintenance?
*
Just yesterday, was discussing with Digilife about the router about 2 days ago I think. TBH I didn't really pay much attention to the quota thing, I thought it's just the temp side effect of maintenance, until last time ppl were starting to believe that this quota thing is getting real and coming soon.

I looked at the MR3420 and I was glad that I didn't pull the trigger on the MikroTik. tongue.gif

You seems to blame me for your purchase

Okay, i was in KL yesterday and bought a Asus RT N-16 and a RT N15-U, using N-16  now, smooth as silk.

Show you some test result at this hour ( this file is for my other Asus RT N-15U)

[attachmentid=3256780].

The router is staying at office now, can't show the speed test.

I did one thing for my MF680 though, the magic tweak. This magic tweak gives me an additional signal bar, surfing is must more smoother, no more sudden death connection, I see the hope of my 3g despite all the worst conditions that I've here in the office. rclxms.gif

FYI, Time Fibre is the best in Boleland as they own the most comprehensive Fibre Optic network which TMB wanted to swallow but failed.
*
I still remember Time is the only company that has fiber optic network last time, a far ahead of that time, Tmnut just started to test their HSBB. During that if u can have ADSL connection it's considering rare and lucky already, since the coverage area of HSBB was very limited, let's alone having fiber optics.

http://www.maxis.com.my/home/broadband/tss/index.asp
"Now you can do so much more with less time with the introduction of the Maxis 4G LTE. Sign up for
any of the monthly Wireless Broadband plans of RM88 and above and get the LTE modem at only
RM400 to enjoy super speeds on the Maxis 4G LTE network. "
*
Err I thought he was talking about legacy plan, since legacy plan also cost more than RM88 lol.

Let say Maxis also offers one time rm150 LTE Activation Fee for legacy users, will you guys pay RM150 and jump ship? hmm.gif

No way, legacy users are too "precious" for Maxis to bully around. RM99 from us is the one thing that keeps Maxis profitable. - said every legacy user.
*
U know what I'm kinda agreed what u've said. I'm using legacy plan for quite a long time, and since legacy plan is no longer existed, it becomes quite valuable to sustain this plan for legacy users, as long as it won't implement the cap thing.

Every legacy users will not quit this plan easily due to the benefits for this plan, so in other word legacy users have to pay Maxis monthly. It's kinda like a Sabah and Sarawak as a fixed deposit for BN lol.

For me the quota thing on wired internet will not be implemented, at least for foreseeable future. The reason for this is coz both TM and Maxis are highly competitive in this biz now, u can see by just looking at the ads that they've put. Either one of them that pull the quota trigger 1st, the competitor will be winner for sure, so both sides also don't dare to implement 1st.

Unless both sides pakat together and implement it at once, that's the different story.

If this's true legacy plan is meaningless to keep on subscribing already, I've already thinking to switch to Unifi and Maxis just helps me to jump ship.

Alright just called 123 just now, and the CSO didn't know anything about the quota implementation, basically what she said was that the reason of the quota thing on my legacy is the glitch, she didn't receive any order from Maxis about the quota implementation.

So different CSO different story, who can we trust? Well I don't trust any Maxis CSO as I used to receive wrong infos from them, it's pretty useless to call them as you can't get accurate info from them.

So just wait for the official announcement from Maxis, nothing we can do also.

As I said no point to contact CS now, it'll only make you more confusions and possibly make you can't sleep tonight, relax bro.

I still think this quota thing is just a glitch and temporarily. Maxis has to make an official announcement first before they make new change to their cuurent existing plans, they can't just do it silently and announce it afterward.

The reason that I said that was because of the conversation with CSO just now, she told me that Maxis has to make announcement first before doing any chance on any plan, Maxis can't do it silently and announce it later. She did give me an example of recently change of certain plan(can't remember which plan), so I think her words are trustable.

If Maxis really dares to implement it silently, I'll buang my legacy plan without a second thought, Maxis won't get my money.

I'll wait for the official announcement from Maxis before making any decision. If Maxis decides to implement quota on legacy plan, say good bye to my good old legacy and terus jump ship to unifi.

The question is how far we would trust Maxis for not capping the fiber after this incident??
Go for the one that have proven from its track record - Streamyx/Unifi.

Maxis? Think 3 - 4 times before you sign the contract.
*
Haha exactly what I thought, Maxis can implement the quota secretly and silently for their 3G broadband, and you think they won't do it again on their fiber broadband? I would rather settle down with Unifi with slower speed, so fed up with Maxis already. mad.gif

I have one question for all the unlimited users here, especially legacy, can you guys run VPN on your Maxis 3g connection?

I've been wondering quite a while for this question ever since my IP address has been restricted at 113 IP range. I want to use VPN not because I want to bypass the quota, I want to use it for different purposes.
