Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen.

Look at it this way,
1) If your phone cannot boot but able to get into download mode you can flash back stock rom + factory reset which should solve it and u dun need to send to service center. Problem solved.
2) If you phone cannot boot and you cannot even enter download mode (example S3 SDS cases) then Samsung won't even be able to boot it themselves, hence they would not know you are rooted. So you still get your warranty replacement. Problem solved.
Edit: Fixed some grammar error before joytest comment on it.

I guess the one case you mentioned was referring to my brothers Note 2 which I mentioned here before. He sent the phone for warranty and within 2 weeks he already got back his phone. Samsung replaced the whole motherboard. I don't know about S3 cases whether they got easy replacements like that or not...
Hopefully no more Note 2 issue like that in the future....
p/s: I proof-read my posting twice for spelling mistakes... Hahahah....

I read somewhere that Samsung SC will still replace the same version of mobo. The device is still vulnerable to SDS emmc bugs attack after replacement.
* Hope no grammar/spelling mistake.

I also using the

Damn I see I have gained some notoriety for the policing of grammar and spelling
I do not intend any offence (noun), but hope to contribute to the improvement of English in this fine nation in an informal setting like this wonderful place LYN.
It pains me to see how many people cannot distinguish homophones or even dissimilar words especially with R and L sounds, and this afflicts people from all strata of society. It is even happening in the UK and US with native speakers as I read quite a bit of sites like LYN which are UK and US based.
I hope you all take my [PEDANTry] with a dose of humor and good naturedness and we can all improve together.

Anyway, examples:

shack/shake ?
afford/effort
shutter/shuttle/shuttel
affect/effect

for now

The best way to update to 4.1.2 if you are rooted by downloading the firmware from sammobile ( which is 1GB in size ) and update it using Mobile Odin and you will still rooted after the update.
I tried MO, and you can select which bits to flash. If you already have a CWM, you can uncheck Recovery and you WILL KEEP your recovery. F'ing great tool with selective flashing of components.
