I notice we have a small group of avid book readers here on LYN.

I recently came across a book exchange community and was wondering if those on LYN might be interested in something similar.

We could meet once a month and bring any books we might want to exchange or give away. We can also sit and discuss our favourite novels.

I think a place accessible by public transport would be easier for those who don't drive. Perhaps Old Town @Bangsar LRT?

What do you guys think? I'd love to meet some of you (especially the fantasy fans).

Sounds good, though with the giving away part, say I were to bring my books to the meetup, should I expect all my books to go to someone or if no one's interested in any of my titles, will there be someone keeping all the books?

Which book exchange community did you go to? I only know of the Subang Jaya Book Exchange Comm. Would like to know if there are any others.

Well that's purely up to you. If there's nobody interested in your book you could choose to take your book back. Or if you're adamant on getting rid of it, we could create a box and once person could keep the box until the next meet up.

I didn't actually visit the SJ Book Exchange, I came across their facebook page and it sounded very interesting.

Yea, the SJBEP is great. Friendly people. The next exchange takes place next Sunday. Come drop by and have a look

I would really love to see an active book exchange community here in Malaysia, especially somewhere easily reachable like Midvalley or somewhere in the middle of KL.
