QUOTE(evilpuppy @ Jan 11 2013, 03:38 PM) The SIRIM sticker is just for proof that the device has gone through quality checking. But the AVAXX sticker, if removed void warranty? Can anyone confirm this? Cause to my knowledge, the distro should identify the phone by its IMEI number, not the sticker. |

QUOTE(sevennet @ Jan 25 2013, 11:43 PM) hi guys, same question here, how do you check for app updates?my phone is not showing update of new apps automatically. i have to manually view the app in the store in order to be informed that update is available. i have been reading some articles and some say that it takes some time to be reflected but it has been days and yet manual work has to be done. are you guys facing the same problem? and is there any free voice call app besides skype? |

QUOTE(marauderz @ Jan 26 2013, 09:56 PM) one of the questions regarding that has always been.. Is your Facebook web page open and in focus on any browser? *sometimes* it seems like it only sends to the phone if it feels you didn't read it on the web. i realised it too, i was wondering if it clashes with the Messaging app on my Windows 8 desktop or not also. Anyway, I just disabled the desktop app. Trying out IM+ now, don't like the interface thoughI keep getting the "Can't connect to chat message" on Messaging This post has been edited by deric88: Jan 27 2013, 01:01 AM |

Anyone facing the battery drain issue, have you ever considered that WhatsApp is draining all your battery?
Did some reading and found out that WhatsApp uses the Music API to polls its data from the servers. That's why you get an icon and the set of music control when changing volume although not playing any music. Just uninstalled my whatsapp to test out this theory. |

If you're on WiFi, with data off, chat signed in. Switch off WiFi and then Switch On data, chat would not be able to connect because the stream was broken when switching off wifi. However same scenario, if you turn on data, then turn off wifi, your chat would still be working normally. behaviour is quite random however, if the person is appearing offline and fb chat, it wun get pushed to the phone This post has been edited by deric88: Feb 4 2013, 02:52 AM |

QUOTE(skyline100 @ Feb 4 2013, 07:43 PM) Do share us some feedback after using it for some time. I think the users here all want to know the battery and random reboot issue after update. I'm on portico since the day I bought, flashed it straight away. No random reboots.Battery life when I turn on 3G data, 15 hours if I don't really use it, 10 hours if use to check facebook and internet every now and then. However, when 3G is turned off, I think I can get 2 days using WiFi. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This is 55% left and it says 1 day + more, theoretically, 100% will give me about 2 days+. Took this pic 1 hour and half ago, now battery is at 52%. 3% per hour, for 100% you get about 33 hours. If you're wondering why 9 hours down to 50%, I was out of my home and on 3G data for about 5 hours. Conclusion, on WiFi, about 3% per hour and 3G is about 7-10% per hour. Some things that I discovered:: 1. Turn off your network data if on WiFi network, unlike android or ios, the data is still connected as a fall back plan in case WiFi has no internet connectivity. 2. I uninstalled Whatsapp due to its weird way of polling data using Music API to keep the phone awake. This way, the phone NEVER enters to deep sleep. QUOTE(c2_lover @ Feb 4 2013, 08:02 PM) I think its possible since the flashing process is just like installing a new rom rather than upgrade. The old rom is avail to download also.QUOTE(ainuddin @ Feb 4 2013, 08:16 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by deric88: Feb 4 2013, 08:32 PM |

QUOTE(keramat @ Feb 15 2013, 08:06 AM) saw it yesterday at ebay. would like to order black color. maybe order today. I placed my order on the 2nd and the date on the package stated it was sent on the 5th. Reached Malaysia on the 7th and I only received it yesterday, the 14th after all the delay and holidays.1) btw how long for delivery to malaysia? 2) how u feel the grip? bulky? bcs lumia itself bulky n heavy. anybody can recommend what n where to install best screen protector? It's not really bulky, maybe extra 2mm thickness or so, but it feel really good if you have anything but the black version. The gloss surface of the other colors can be quite annoying and this is just perfect. Comparison wise, it's exactly like those casing that came with the Lumia 800,900 and N9. |

QUOTE(simmarjit @ Feb 17 2013, 11:02 AM) Anyone tried or bought this wireless charger ? http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2669588?hl=lumia%20920 ...how is it? Any problems? Last week 1 member posted that this chargers dies after a few weeks of usage, and 2 of the units he got suffer the same effect. I presume build quality is bad, so yeah, you pay for what you get. |

QUOTE(Darkripper @ Feb 18 2013, 02:34 PM) I see.. Btw what should we start to configure 1st? I mean to optimize the battery life and etc? Actually do i need to switch off the phone in order to charge? There's no special technique to first charge your phone, as stated in the manual, just charge normally and use normally. Battery life would increase gradually after a few charge cycles, mine showed obvious improvement after like 3-4 days of usage. The rest would be the usual stuff like disabling background apps, disable NFC, Bluetooth when not using. Have fun =). |

QUOTE(Darkripper @ Feb 18 2013, 02:44 PM) Well, depends on what you use. Look at the collection of Essential apps on market. I personally do not use much apps, not even Facebook or Whatsapp. I use WeChat, Skype, Baconit for reddit. For twitter and fb purposes, just use the People hub. |
