Nokia back then was stubborn they keep coming out more device but slowly updating the hardware. When Iphone came in they was no match for nokia until they focus on software when nokia still playing the quantity game. Then android came up started with 1ghz processor nokia back then still 480mhz to 680mhz thats how nokia start to slowly die.

Software - so limited

Then iOS keep improving better than better then was apps wall but nokia still half dead and undecided which OS. At that time nokia still have the fighting chance they have the Nokia N900 running Maemo 5 this phone capable to pawn android to hell.

Nokia let Nokia N900 to died they continue to focus on symbian thats slowly dying.

Then android from single core 1ghz slowly reach dual core Nokia still at 680mhz.
their collection of apps are still crappy.

Then back then Nokia phones are resisitive touch only iphone are capacitive and multi touch.

Nvm when the patent of iphone technology is over nokia is still stubborn still 680mhz.

Android are dual core already around Samsung Galaxy S2. I remember nokia just launch Nokia X7 and Nokia E6 running 680mhz while S2 is dual core.

Then when android are running quad core nokia only started their single core 1ghz.

Then later launch the Nokia N9 the maemo and meego fan are excited. Nokia killed that phone as fast as it launched. I regret intro it to my friends they complaint non stop. It was replace by Nokia Lumia 800.

I practically watch nokia from their glory years straight to hell.

back then nokia didnt need fast processors, unlike android. multiple cores also can lag like no tomorrow. and nokia is not in hell yet. better and bigger things are coming.

Nah when i was using symbian it was lagging like hell especially when using Nokia N8. When it started belle it was alright.

I hardly play game on my nokia phone because its laggy and the games are below average.

Just ask yourself if single core is so good why did nokia let meego to die? Nokia adopt windows phone now is worse most things are control by microsoft.

Why is android laggy? because its real time multitasking like Nokia N9 running single core.

Lets come back to windows phone why do you think it does not lag.

No.1 its not real time multitasking
No.2 Its only tiles if tiles can lag can throw it away di
No.3 Limited functions

Honestly android have chased up already now phones like nexus 4, Note 2, S3 do not lag anymore while it have real time multitasking like symbian.

Thats is from my observation.

Nokia let meego die, I think most probably is meego got no real future, in long term. Only Nokia was using Meego(I heard LG canceled their meego phone). No developers are willing to develop apps just for one company.

It's not just about multitasking, the phone still feel lags even no background apps is running.
The problem is how it coded. So inefficient. The apps coded in java, which is very inefficient, require more horsepower to do things. But a great advantage for this is the apps can run in x86 and ARM architecture without major port. Therefore Intel Android phone doesn't have this app compatibility issue.

And new android phones still lag, but lag less.

Yea just imagine if meego single core is as smooth as any quad core just imagine its running quad core meego it will pawn every single phone in the market and if they have focus all on apps today Nokia is still big and as par as android and iOS.

I have heard of the intel architecture lets hope nokia able to survive until it comes. Even the windows 8 sux i got the serial key and suppose to activate before 31 jan 2013 but end up i just let it go because it design so badly to do a simple task on a desktop i need to do additional 4 to 5 steps.

I staying with windows 7 because windows 8 is designed for tablet not desktop.

Android needs more core in order to provide the same user experience as dual core system running in WP8. This is a fact and even acknowledged by the android team themselves and they don't intend to change this in near future.
Although the GUI is not as smooth as IOS or WP8, it should performs up on par with others when running application.
The sluggishness of android is due to it doesn't provides as much cpu cycle as others to process the touch and GUI.

i really a hater of android but i was quite impress on note 2 the lag its not noticable with so much functions
The camera really sux on note 2 really hope nokia comes out with someone to brag about on their carl zeiss before they say good bye or carl zeiss partnership end up given to samsung.

Well windows 8 is really usable on a desktop....you just need a little getting used to ...if you wish you could almost ignore the start screen since the desktop experience is exactly the same like windows 7 .. I have no regrets in upgrading my laptop to windows 8 ..love the metro UI ...the start screen is really helpful (you could even do internet searches or looking for files and folders by just going to the start screen and typing you could even search for meaning of words that is if you have a metro dictionary app installed) It really comes down to personal opinion...i think Windows 8 is great ...
*
i upgraded it on my notebook but not yet on my desktop.
For me they should allow us to choose. Now to shut down i need to go 4 steps when on windows 7 by 2 steps i shut it down.

Try alt + tab wow its like hell just to go back to desktop.

While out for dinner today I noticed not less than 3 people who had their phones on their table.. tethered to a battery pack that was larger than the phones they were connected to.

This along with the fact that the availability of battery packs have increased exponentially is a good sign that the phone makers need to stop making phones thinner and put in beefier batteries.

If your L920's battery is dying within 10 hours, it's just a matter of fact that power consumption has gone up way too much for the size of the batteries they're putting into modern smartphones.

It's quite simple to keep your L920 charged through the day
- get an extra USB cable and connect it to your PC
- get an extra USB power supply and use it in your office, you'll need a good one that doesn't produce line noise which screws up the touch screen.
- get a car USB power supply if you drive around a lot.

Your phone isn't going to last a day anymore, so it's time to learn how to deal with it.

I stop worrying about battery since i use another phone.

This the biggest issue in nokia for all their models todate you notice even at moment of critical their spec are going up too slow. The way the software manage its processor need to be priority to give a longer battery life

You're using a Note 2 right? While I agree that with proper software optimization comes longer battery life, the Note 2 is blessed with the fact that being a big device they can and did stick a larger battery in it.
*
at first i also think that way but after u download the battery stats app i learned that its how the software optimized the usage of the processor.

Here an example
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPho...2&idPhone2=4967

Motorola DROID RAZR HD vs Lumia 920

Notice the size smaller than Lumia 920
Bigger screen than lumia
have card slot external
Bigger battery capacity

still its capable to fit such a big battery. Question is whether nokia wants it or not.
