1.) What are the differences between T5,T5HO and T8?
HO=high output, T5 & T8= different technology to built florescent light . from good to bad, T5HO > T5 > T8 2.) How many watts do I need if I were to form thick and dense glosso carpet in 2 feet tank? read my blog. i got some information about light wattage over aquarium volume. 3.) Does diy co2 provide the same co2 to the tank? DIY co2 and pressurize co2 tank provide same co2 source to aquarium. but DIY co2 very troublesome since you need to change the remedy every one or two weeks. 4.) Is 360lph flow rate good for 2 feet tank? calculate your aquarium water volume. filter rate shall be about water volume*6. meaning the filter shall cycle your whole aquarium water 6times in 1 hour. QUOTE(applebee @ Jan 10 2013, 02:53 PM) too bad jctasoga for the KO moss. I am having problem with my moss too... but it is hair algae problem. Last time i try bleaching treatment, end up all flame moss KO SAE will do the job.Anybody can advise, if I take out all algae affected moss to another tank and treat with Seachem Flourish Excel. once cure only remove back to my tank. Is it good move? I dun want to add Excel direct into my tank to prevent my RCS from going to heaven. How long and what dosage to do Excel treatment to effectively get rid of hair algae. in my previous experience, i dip my moss ball (with BBA) into Excel solution which thought to remove it. but both K.O. |

QUOTE(kiminha @ Jan 11 2013, 12:11 PM) Hi, just look at the black line. if from infront until after the beginning of the tail then its sae. if the line stops at the beginning of the the tail then its flying fox. nope. flying fox and SAE has the same black line extended to tail.flying fox will have yellowish belly when they grown up. SAE doesnt. they look alike when they less than 2inch |

QUOTE(applebee @ Jan 10 2013, 10:58 PM) Last time I did blackout during raya. away for a week. I covered the entire tank with paper box and off the light. But not really effective. Maybe I should add some Excel this time. maybe OF algae remover? i been using it for quite some time.cherry are safe as long as you put according to dosage. i only put 50% of recommended dosage, it will take longer but it works for removing BBA |

QUOTE(izam7 @ Jan 28 2013, 04:50 PM) weijie, sorry for misleading. i want to ask what other fish you can buy at kedah. hehehehe right now I'm keeping 10 neon tetra, 10 cherry shrimp, a pair of molly, angle fish and zebra tetra. my tank is about 2 ft. last time got few guppies but I've removed them due to their hyper active behaviour and they seem like to attack the tetra. Since I've few rock and plants, the shrimp seem can live very well since they have a lot of hiding spaces this is first time i heard about guppy attacking tetras. because normally guppies are slow swimmer. they are not fast enough to chase tetra. |

QUOTE(thoseeyes @ Feb 7 2013, 04:35 PM) try OF algae remover. works very well.you only need to put 50% of recommended dosage. 1time dose is sufficient to kill all algae in your tank. Caution: if you over dose, this algae remover will melt certain plants and kill your shrimps. |

QUOTE(CaRS2 @ Mar 5 2013, 01:29 PM) it depends on what brand you are using.canister filer emits less heat compare to submerge pump. we encourage canister filter because it will keep co2 in closed loop. hence, plants have more time/chance taking co2 before it is escape. |
