It doesn't really "addressing" the issue at all...

In legally, yes Multihome helps, but for me it doesn't help much by offering some promos and discounts such as 10% off that lasts for only 1 year. Primary subscription must be already subscribed to Astro for minimum 2 years, and spend minimum RM130 between primary and Multihome account, plus you must sign up auto debit to be eligible for this offer. Contract 24 months will be apply somemore.

For Multiroom, primary subscription got to spend minimum RM80 to be eligible for Multiroom, so you just pay 50% of your primary subscription will do. If primary subscription is RM100/month, just pay flat rate of RM53 per month will do. Contract is the same as usual, 12 months for HD box, 24 months for PVR box.

Illegally, Multiroom helps a lot and it gives so much savings in the long term by adding RM50 (excl. GST) from primary subscription, and it lasts forever (not 1 year). Get second STB, bring it to another location and watch Astro like you usually do. There are people doing this to save money though... Thanks to its monopoly business, Astro is simply expensive.

Also, the Multihome account will not mirror the primary account's package subscription, so package subscription for Multihome account is different than the primary one. And, it is compulsory that the Multihome account must subscribe to HD service.

So, do you still consider Multihome, helpful?

My advice? Add Multiroom subscription, then take the second STB to another place without letting Astro know. That's it.

Nah don't be surprised about it. There are quite an amount of people doing this too.

Some even like this, primary subscription is in KL, but Multiroom (second STB) take to Melacca... 😂
Cuz it's satellite, man... Just align and point the dish correctly to the sky then can already, all around Malaysia...
