QUOTE
If a capitalist had been present at Kitty Hawk back in the early 1900s, he should have shot Orville Wright. He would have saved his progeny money. But seriously, the airline business has been extraordinary. It has eaten up capital over the past century like almost no other business because people seem to keep coming back to it and putting fresh money in.

I have an 800 number now that I call if I get the urge to buy an airline stock. I call at 2 in the morning and I say: 'My name is Warren, and I'm an aeroholic.' And then they talk me down.

A very interesting item...

some stock were removed from syariah compliant and some stocks added, basic observation those stocks removed from the list is suffering some selldown.... those added went up...hmm.gif

QUOTE
The securities Commission's Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) has revised its screening methodology by adopting a 2-tier quantitative approach that applies to business activity and financial ratio benchmarks. Under the financial ratio benchmarks, a company's cash in conventional account & all forms of conventional borrowings must be less than 33% of the company's financial position.

As a result of this revision, 158 stocks were removed from the Syariah-compliant list of 653 stocks. A notable names that were dropped from this exercise are Armada, SPSetia, Airasia, DLady & YTLPowr, Parkson, TChong & MRCB. New stocks added to the list are Oldtown, Brahmin's, CMSB & Suria.

Well proper housekeeping of records is essential to know your portfolio position at all time...

I use J stock to monitor and build my portfolio for 3 countries...and it's free. All info is recorded including dividend, total loss/gain, etc.... thumbup.gif

i do, i have spreadsheets. done manually sad.gif

usually ignore the jupiter platform one,
just because the history they lay out in the system averages out all the unit prices so not accurate.

will check out this j stock thingy tq...
*
spreadsheet is a total pain... to monitor.

Jstock updates your portfolio every 15 mins and have a charting software

You can put sms reminder (pay) if your stock hit target buy/sell price or send you email (free)

others include graphs, charts, pie chart etc etc wink.gif

The HP android version have to pay though.. but worth it.

For CIMB itrade, i don't have any issue for that

Except the accuracy of the pricing when the share bough via IPO or rights issue
*
CIMB itrade conveniently remove brokerage from your profit/loss.. so you might not be getting as much profit as you think. brows.gif

The format takes some getting use to.. you can set auto brokerage calculation in the option. So auto calculate for you no need manually put brokerage, clearing and stamp duty. tongue.gif
