I think about 5min..
*
By default, ROOter Huntsman is configured to check for WAN connection alive every 2 mins. Depending on what you choose for the Keep Connection Alive option, it will either restart WAN, toggle modem or reboot the router. For example, if you've choose to reboot the router, at 2 minutes after the router is booted up but not able to establish a WAN connection yet, it will reboot the router to try to re-establish it. This will make the time needed to establish WAN connection even longer.

For my case, the average connection time at my area and my combination of hardware (E398 and MR3020/MR3420V1) are between 1-5 minutes, I've changed my default interval to 5 minutes.

Netgear's R6100 will stir the 802.11ac router market and drive the price down. biggrin.gif

Thank you. I will flash my TL-WR1043ND with ROOter later and share the screen shot. Want to try ROOter with Maxis Fiber  brows.gif

not recommended to use anything other than 3G/4G modems with ROOter. As many have mentioned before, ROOter is heavily customized and optimized for USB 3G/4G connections.

VLAN should work on standard OpenWRT firmwares with routers that support it, WR1043ND is one of them. Refer to the OpenWRT for TP-Link 1043ND v1.8+ on Maxis FTTH thread

Anybody is using WR710N? Would like to know what is the amount of flash memory and RAM that comes with this model in Malaysia. From OpenWRT's Wiki page (http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr710n), it states that it comes with 2MB Flash and 16MB RAM, Poland version comes with 8MB Flash and 32MB RAM.

If Malaysia version is the same as Poland version, this will be a very good replacement for MR3020/WR703N. Perhaps can take over the most popular MR3420. tongue.gif

Disclaimers:
No 3G support with factory firmware
OpenWRT firmware support in progress (hopefully, ROOter firmware will be supported too thumbup.gif )

Only advantage is direct plug in compare to 5V input.
Malaysia distributor don't seem bringing in this too sad.gif
*
Advantage more than direct plug-in. There's 8MB Flash [to be confirmed] (4MB for MR3420/MR3020), Dual 10/100Mbps Ethernet Ports (Single for MR3020), and you can use it to charge your smartphone at 1A @ 5V.

You can find a lot of sellers in Lelong.com.my and Lazada.com selling this and it's cheaper than MR3420 and MR3020. Cheapest I can find is RM59. whistling.gif

I'm using a WDR4300 as the backbone of my house LAN. Comes with dual USB but never try it. Will replace it with Mikrotik RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN soon. tongue.gif

Got 951G-2HND now, great USB modem compatibility biggrin.gif

I will get something futureproof (Wireless AC), although I don't think I will utilize it well except streaming to my TV tongue.gif
*
RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN should support most of the 3G/4G modems too but I won't be using it for mobile broadband. For 802.11ac, it's too expensive for now. The cheaper ones are not that great, you might need to upgrade again in the future.

I'm currently using 150Mbps 802.11n to stream 1080p contents to my TV with Raspberry Pi running on Xbian. No much problem. Perhaps I'll consider 802.11ac when 4K contents becomes mainstream. nod.gif

Just want to update that dairyman has uploaded ROOter firmware for WR710N. Note that it's only for 8MB flash variants. Hurray for ROOter team for fast actions and support!! notworthy.gif

I'm just waiting for the sellers to response to confirm the size of the flash memory available in Malaysia models before placing an order. drool.gif

Just ordered 2 from Lazada at RM59/each with free shipping. Will update when I find out. wink.gif

Update:
Although I have yet to receive the WR710N, I browsed around at TP-Link Malaysia site and found the factory firmware for this device. It is likely that we'll get 8MB flash memory as the size of the factory firmware is 7MB++. thumbup.gif

Will be waiting your review (vs MR3420)  icon_rolleyes.gif

I won't bet on this too much as this would mean comparing two different categories of router. I'm guessing that it would be comparable with MR3020/WR703N. After all, it is using built-in antenna and it's 1T1R MIMO.

Perhaps sometime next week. Not in a hurry! Original plan was to use these as wireless repeater. If it really comes with 8MB flash, it's really a bonus. thumbup.gif

I don't think anyone has successfully done it yet. Most of us don't have good 3G signals inside our house, we use antenna and even place our 3G routers outside (of course covered from sun and rain) to get connected. icon_rolleyes.gif

Build quality is excellent given the low purchase price. rclxms.gif It does come with 8MB flash and 32MB ram, after installed ROOter, there are still 4MB++ available. As you can see from the picture above, it is about 10% bigger than MR3020 which makes me to reconsider bringing it along when i'm on the go. I'm supposed I'll stick with MR3020 for travel. sweat.gif

definitely not with factory firmware. It's possible with OpenWRT but I still can't find anyone uploaded a version which includes the yes dongle wimax driver and dialer (this was more than 1 year ago). Perhaps someone has done it already.

I remember there is another router that is capable to support yes dongle right out of the box. Just forgot what's the name already. See if anyone can help you with that.

Here's my current setup that works with E3276 on MR3020:
Modem firmware - 21.132.01.00.000
ROOter firmware - Huntsman 2013-11-10 Red
Router Power - 4-ports USB Charger (Connected main router cable to 2.0A and secondary router cable to 1.0A)
AT Command used - AT^SETPORT=”A1,A2;10,12,13,16″ (note that this will disable the virtual CD and microSD card reader, i prefer this as I don't like the annoying prompt every time I plug E3276 into my laptop)

For those that can detect but can't dial, make sure that at ROOter > Modem > Information > Device Debug Information, you have the modem component detected:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

If you're just getting the Linux hub (I experienced this on my WR710N and MR3420V1), you may try the following:
- Unplug the E3276, wait for one minute and plug back in
or
- Go to ROOter > Modem > Connection and switch USB Power (if supported) to OFF, save it. Wait for 1 minute or so before switching it back to ON and save.

I prefer the 2nd method since I put them outside the balcony.
