quite confuse with their marketing strategy , both model for mobile work station ? if does, why put in U processor, if for mobile using, its too heavy compare with MSI gs70,..if for gaming, the price are way expensive then the MSI , Asus N550JV, Lenovo Y510p

- maybe they aim for person whom need something bigger display for multimedia - touch , moderate gaming , but dislike g750 jx , MSI gs70 ( expensive )
*
starting from last year, i had some thoughts on Dell that their marketing strategy is a bit funny. they implemented U processors instead of giving a moderate one. i think their main aim is on moderate usage. with that price, i could buy a N550JV which has a better processor and more lighter.

one person will never change a laptop that he is happy with unless they are chasing the specs. smile.gif

you already have a good CPU rig, so that makes your gaming session on a PC more worth than on a laptop.

yeah, finally have some free time, better go on a vacation while I still can happy.gif

wah, these new Inspirons are really premium, and I'm pretty sure they will spark up quite a few brandwars again for "copying" laugh.gif

Sorry about the mistake... was rushing just now haha, added them back in XD XD
Good to see Dell lineups are less messy now  laugh.gif

Thanks for all your help man~

yeah, the new Inspirons are really premium. i kinda like the 17" models, and have some mood to give up gaming so might ended up purchase one of it some day. tongue.gif

anyway, where will you be having a trip? if it is outside Bolehland, I might add it in my 'Places must visit before I die' booklet. laugh.gif

Yup, sifu lee_what is right  notworthy.gif  , (looking at all the screen shot I could find and the manual) the 15 7000 and 17 7000 are using the normal z-height HDD. But the strange thing I did not seem to find / see mSATA port for 15" and 17"  hmm.gif  laugh.gif
*
Dell just dont wanna straight forward with consumers that there is a mSATA slot.

sifu, processor model typo. it is i7-4702HQ.

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Oct 18 2013, 11:09 PM)
Other country got the 3rd model, only 512GB mSATA SSD, no HDD slot.
The space is used for bigger battery 91Wh instead of 61Wh with the cheaper model (mSATA + HDD)
*
so that basically means there is no chance to slot in a 2.5" SSD or HDD for upgrading the storage.
sacrificing HDD slot for battery life. ohmy.gif

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Oct 18 2013, 11:16 PM)
Oh I see, thanks for the input  notworthy.gif
Yeah, I guess I know why they didn't bother to provide that option here laugh.gif Since like you said, it will cost a bomb! haha, and people who are willing to pay that much will definitely go for the MBP 15 RD tongue.gif
Abit sad la to be honest haha, the specs for the base model could be better i.e. ditch the touchscreen and make it cheaper; or at least provide SSD option sad.gif
*
it goes up to RM7600 if you upgrade with branded 960GB SSD (Crucial M500). model and pricing is malaysia's full spec XPS 15. the 512GB version of MBP 15 RD costs RM8700.

i still prefer the Inspiron 15 7000 as a better multimedia laptop than the XPS 15 or MBP 15 RD. the thinness of both the XPS and MBP will kill the internal parts after a long term. you should know why. laugh.gif

They claimed 11 hours battery life with it...

do or search for a review is better than trusting claims.

If they want powerful, Illegear or MSI are still better picks XD
The XPS lines are too similar to Macs to be mere conincidence haha  laugh.gif
*
agree. just the minor disadvantage is Illegear and MSI lacks of premium feel (except GS70).

TJ, Apple Macbook Pro with Retina is refreshed with Haswell processors. now default base units come with Intel Iris graphics. it claims to have 9 hours on the 13 and 8 hours on the 15.

I don't understand why Apple never wanted to show their CPU models lol, have to go and dig  sweat.gif

I wonder what the XPS13's specs will be hmm.gif
I think they will still be powered by normal Haswell processors with Intel HD4xxx CPUs. Will the cheaper price lead to better sales against the MBP?  hmm.gif
*
i dont think this model comes with Iris integrated, since it has a dedicated GPU.

for the XPS 13, dont know much about it. just hope it will slap in Iris. btw, i think they will ditch XPS 14, as XPS 15 is available in Malaysia market now.
