Maxis One Club promo period for iPhone 5 is long over so no, no privileges whatsoever.

Doesn't matter la even if it is refurbished, as long it looks brand new, feels brand new and it works.

Even if it is refurbished how old can the phone be. Even the oldest iPhone 5 in the market in the world is not even 9 months old what more a Malaysian set.

Its not like iPhone 5 has been in the market for 2 - 3 years.

If it really matters to you then just get a third party to repair your existing phone. Minor parts or problems can be replaced or fixed at a very cheap price. One or two of forummers on here offer really good iPhone repair services which I myself can vouch for.

Otherwise just live with it.

You can get it contract free provided you have an existing Maxis postpaid plan. But only limited to 1 or 2 units per number can't exactly remember.

Do note no device discounts if you choose to do so, gotta pay full RRP as opposed to a few hundred off if you sign up a contract with them.

Not possible, last I remember the maximum amount of months left on your contract to extend is 5 months. If your contract still has more than 5 months to go you can't extend.

Either you get someone to take the line and you take the phone or you sign another contract for a new number.

Otherwise you can still buy the phone itself for full RRP since you are already on a Maxis iPhone postpaid plan.

Hey man my bad actually the maximum months of your contract remaining + number of months extension < 30 months then yes, you can extend.

so means if you signed on January 27 by the time its October 31 it will be:

(24 - 9) + 12 = 27 months.

So yes you can get an extension.

True the price has not changed in the US but places like Australia and Singapore have seen a rise in price.

I don't see Malaysia as an exception here. I'm expecting a slight increase in rrp, like 100-200.

So means taxes in Singapore and Australia has been increased hence the price increase? I'm pretty sure they had taxes for the iPhone 5 as well last year. Either they have increased the tax this year or the device has been sold at a more expensive price.

The 5 has been discontinued. Replaced by the 5C.

I just called up Maxis to check on my contract and also asked about contract extensions.

Apparently if your contract has more than 3 months remaining you will NOT be able to extend for the iPhone 5S.

You will have to get a new line or get someone to take the line and you take the phone.

The 30 month thing doesn't exist anymore.

Looks like they will be reserving. Someone asked on Maxis official FB Page and Maxis responded:

2 years contract also warranty will still only be one year. After one year if you send back for warranty they will charge you accordingly iirc

If you are a maxis one club member you should not need to pay any advanced payment.

Maxis all the while has credit card and epp 0%
