I am having low data throughput or Bandwidth over my local network, In theory, I should get 1300Mbps but in actual I am only getting 260Mbps. Below are my hardware setup. Basically transferring files from desktop to the EX2.
AC1750 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter - Archer T8E (Max 1300Mbps)
ASUS RT-AC66U (Max 1300Mbps)
MyCloudEX2 (Max 1000Mbps)
CAT 5E cable (Max 1000Mbps)

Basically, My desktop uses the AC1750 T8E and it is connected to the Asus router RT-AC66U via wireless and the MyCloudEX2 is connected to the router via CAT 5E cable.
I have checked the wireless speed on my desktop and it is stated there under network status that the speed is 1Gbps. I have also added the ip address into the host file but it didn't help. The distance from my desktop to the router is approximately 6 meters with no walls in between. It is also connected via the 5GHz band.

I have also tried to enable the jumbo package in the router setting but with no positive result.

Hi x-frame,

Do show us the result that you get, your router wireless setting.

The router firmware version also.

Thank you
*
I have updated to the latest firmware (At work now, Can't remember the exact figure, but it's the latest firmware that was push down to the router).

Connection:
PC -> Router -> NAS

As all the components has a capability of 1300Mbps, I would expect to get at lease half the publish speed but I only manage to get approximately 260Mbps. Wireless link on desktop shows 1Gbps.

Which settings in the wireless settings are you referring to?

Basically, it is:
1. 5GHz network.
2. Wireless QoS enabled
3. WPA2- Personal security
4. AES
5. Only the desktop is connected to the 5GHz band, no other devices connected to the 5GHz band.
6. Bandwidth set to 80MHz
7. Channel 149 (Tried all the other channels, didnt help)
8. Network Priority set to highest.
9. Tried enable and disable Jumbo Package, didnt help.

I know that wireless link shows and actual throughput is different but will it drop so drastically even at a line of sight 6 meters away?

Do let me know what other information you need as I am currently at work and dont have access to the router.

I dont know your budget, but the Asus router that I am using supports Maxis fibre.

ASUS RT-AC66U

I just need to select Maxis from the drop down box and all the settings is done. (Of cause, key in your UID and PASS)

My firmware version : 3.0.0.4.378_9533
if connected via cable from PC to router (Cat 5e), i only can get a maximum of 620Mbps. Cant hit 900Mbps or so. On wireless, its just around 260Mbps.

Any solution to maximize the bandwidth?

I have tried LAN connection from PC to NAS and I can only get a maximum throughput of 660Mbps on wired (Cat 5E). That is still far off from the publish rate,

Need your advice.

Can you try running iperf3 with another PC? Just to rule out any possible issue with the NAS.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will connect another laptop to the router and try and see. Will only do it tonight.

Hi Asus,

I am having some issues with my Asus router RT-AC66U.

When I bought the router I have the option to select the "Special requirement from ISP". But when my router was having some issues I did a factory reset and I do not have that option now. My router firmware version is 3.0.0.4.380_3831.

Anyway to fix this? I am using Maxis home fiber.

The option is available at LAN > IPTV > Select ISP Profile

Thank you so much, I dont use IPTV hence I didnt know that its there. After configuring it, it confirm that my Asus router is having issues.

My Asus router can detect all my devices over wireless but non of the device can go on to Internet except for my desktop. Tried using other router and everything was fine. Only happen on the Asus router. Maybe I need to send it for repair.
