Hi, need help. I recently purchased a asus RT N12Hp, it was working fine for the first few days. Later, the wifi seems to have a problem. My device keeps reconnecting to wifi and it gives lower speed or disconnect from network frequently. I didn't changed any setting so just couldn't know the reason.

Hi, I have tried to update the firmware to latest versuib for my RT-N12HP but the wifi issue still assist. Using LAN cable, the speed is okay, but using wifi to test the speed, it will be very slow or should I say unstable. How can I resolve this?

Hi Avfan,

The firmware version is 9443. Previously the issue was that devices connected to wifi were easily disconnected/always reconnecting and with lower speed, like 2mbps (Currently is using 30mbps). After firmware is updated, the devices are hardly connected to wifi and if connectec, with low speed, 1mbps.

It is landed property btw.

The first few days using this router RT-N12HP with no issue, after that, the above issue happened.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi all, I have a RT-N12HP B1 router for almost 2 years, however, its wifi speed is not stable since I bought it. Recently I could only have 1mbps speed for wifi (subscribed to 30mbps unifi). Firmware has been updated previously but still having low speed for wifi. Hence, I restored the default firmware.

Could anyone suggest a solution for this? thanks.

Hi vivi228,

May I know what is the speed that you get is use LAN cable to test the Internet speed?

Where do you put the router? And is there electronic device near the router?

Have you try to change the WiFi channel of the router?

Thank you

Hi,

The speed using LAN is 28-31 mbps while using wifi sometimes I could only get 1-3 mbps.

I put my router at ground floor and using WiFi at first floor. No other electronic device near the router except the Unifi device. Have tried to change the WiFi channel either 6 or 11 but speed was slow.

This happens almost each month where the WiFi speed could be as slow as 1-3mbps for a few days/ a week and it get back to normal, however, the WiFi speed is unstable. doh.gif
