Hi, I'm looking at ASUS router for my house and not sure which one to buy. These are the details of my requirements;
1. Unifi 300MB subscription.
2. Use mainly for streaming and work
Thanks for your help.

I second that if you have budget, else go for the newer model AX

Thanks for the advice guys, appreciate it. What about the following-->Asus RT-AX56U AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 ? Does it suffice for my needs? Unifi300 and for streaming and work only.

My unifi account was created today and i changed the netis router to Asus AX56U immediately after TM configured and confirmed the speed is up to 300Mbps

I followed the configuration guide from blacktubi Asus Unifi, except the unifi plus box won't active when connected to lan4. It worked well under AX56U lan3. But i have a weird problem which AX56U will has red light on Internet LED. It happened a few times but it will turn back to normal after a while. Does anyone encounter this issue and got solution?

LAN4 for old UNIFI device smile.gif I just changed my router 2days ago to Asus AX56U and don't find any issues. I'm not sure if your network cable from the modem to router could be an issue. I'm using CAT6 LAN cable and so far no issues for past few days.

Hi tharmaraj,

You may refer to the link below on how to setup the IPv6.

https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/113990/

Thank you
*
WAN >Internet Connection> WAN Connection Type set [PPPoE], please select IPv6 Connection type set [Native] - is this the correct connection for UNIFI?

The internet light will become red suddenly, and need to wait few minutes to restore back the connection. And i checked its log file and found out it had been like kinds of "reset" which log has been cleared off. btw, I had upgraded to latest firmware and changed another cat6 cable but also the same. But this issue won't happen always, once a few days. As the result, I just ignored it.

Hi, I'm using RT-AX56U as well and had the same issue when I first bought this router. After I disable (No) the following "Special requirement from ISP" under WAN settings and the issue seems to be gone. I do off my router at night and switch back on in the morning and the connection to UNIFI comes up at ease.

now I'm having the same issue that someone reported here. I'm loosing connection to my WIFI 5GHZ connection even though I have change the channels numerous times on RT-AX56U. I bought this router a month ago. I have also provided feedback from the router interface. Please fix this issue ASAP I'm going mad now because I'm WFH and I need a reliable connection.

-any MAC filtering enabled?
-check if your roaming on wifi is enabled? (if yes, disable it and check)

both settings "NO". I still don't get any feedback from ASUS on the reported issue. Now really regret buying this product. It's still happing as we speak. vmad.gif

Hi tharmaraj,

Can you try update the beta firmware from the link below and monitor the WiFi connection. Do send us another feedback if the problem still persist.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BlAehhTnXO...rqd09p2iDw/view

Thank you
*
Thanks for your feedback. Is this beta firmware stable? I don't want to mess-up my current setup because I only depend on this router since I'm working from home.

Appreciate if you can confirm on this.

Hi tharmaraj,

Some features are disabled to test the stability of the router. I will update again once we have an official firmware for the RT-AX56U.

Thank you
*
Noted and I have installed beta firmware as per your suggestion because I cannot tolerate anymore with the 5ghz connection dropping. Let's see how it goes and I'll feedback.

better disable Smart Connect. switching bands from 5Ghz <> 2.4Ghz is like connecting to new ssid..hence connection will drop and connect back again.

Hi, need a quick answer; I already have ASUS RT-AX56U as my main router for my double storey house. I plan to buy another Asus RT-AX55 and make it as mesh network. After making this router as mesh, can I still use the LAN ports to connect my devices directly example laptops and computers?
