If I buy RT-N18U, can it supports up to 12 persons? Assume that each person has a laptop and smartphone connected to wifi and summing up 12*2 = 24 connections.

Hi ASUSmy. Does DSL-AC52U (DSL-AC52U | Networking | ASUS Malaysia) supports both Streamyx and Unifi?

Hi @ASUSmy. I'm currently looking for a modem router that can support both streamyx and unifi as I still not sure when unifi will arrive to my area. Is that any modem router with DSL prefix will support both (https://www.asus.com/Networking/xDSL-Modem-Routers-Products/)? Or the modem router labeled ADSL/VDSL only will be supported? For now seems like DSL-AC52U is quite a good deal.

Btw I see someone reply it's supported before.

who say unifi only support VDSL?

Hi @ASUSmy, is that possible to send the modem router to your service centre through postage for warranty?

Hi ASUSmy Why I failed to connect to streamyx? I already follow this video to set up everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMbYfvCnoAw

Update: It seems like it's not natively supported as quick setup does not have Streamyx connection selection.
Update 2: For now I have to set Streamyx Innacomm modem router to bridge with VCI: 35 then set Asus DSL-AC52U to WAN with PPoPE connection. Then use LAN cable to connect Innacomm modem LAN port to Asus DSL-AC52U WAN port.

I hope I can get new firmware update soon that can have directly native streamyx connection without going through Streamyx Innacomm modem router. Thanks.

Hi optimisez,

Can you provide me the system log file and the DSL log when you try to do the connection without the Streamyx Innacom?

Thank you

Hi optimisez,

Can you help provide me the setting file too? Because from the log, the Transfer mode is VDSL, for Streamyx it should be ADSL.

Thank you
*
Hi ASUSmy. Here's the setting file.

Hi optimisez,

Thank you.

After checked the setting, can you go to the DSL Setting and set DSL Modulation to fixed ADSL2+ then apply(see whether xDSL could be synced, if so please provide DSL Log screenshot).

If it can be sync, then go to the WAN to configure the Streamyx setting again.

Thank you

Thank you very much. It's fully working now.

Hi @ASUSmy,
I found that after I updated firmware of my ASUS DSL-AC52U Dual-Band Wireless-AC750 Gigabit VDSL2/ADSL2+ Modem Router to latest version (1.1.2.3_617-gfa1b634 2018/12/05 at the time of writing) , my laptop with Killer Wireless 1535 no longer able to use 5GHz band to surf internet. Currently I only can use internet with 2.4 GHz band.

Got hard reset?
*
If it's Factory default then yes. @ASUSmy, I guess I can confirm it's the regression introduced at Firmware Version: 1.1.2.3_617. After Factory default it's still the same issue that I even cannot access my router UI with 5GHz band. Only 2.4Ghz band can work. I hope I can get new version very soon to fix this critical issue. Btw is that possible for me to roll back previous Firmware version?

Hi ASUSmy, after doing further testing, I can confirm that after I upgrade my DSL-AC52U router firmware to 1.1.2.3_617-gfa1b634 (2018/12/05) at the time of writing, my Killer Wireless 1535 laptop cannot use 5GHz band and 2.4 GHz band also not stable as it will suddenly drop the connection. Today I have serious issue that it suddenly cannot connect to 2.4 GHz band and I have to power off and on my router to get back the connection. I never have this kind of issue all the time until I upgraded to this firmware version. Today I also have keep dropping connect to DSL issue but I'm not sure whether it's firmware issue or Unifi issue.

Currently I completely removed Killer drivers and finally get somehow stable 2.4Ghz band network than before. It will still drop 2.4 GHz band network connection and the download speed is fluctuated up and down wildly though. The current driver now becomes 12.0.0.697. Now I can use 5 GHz band but still not stable as it will suddenly totally no download speed until it’s like drop connection but it’s still connect to router then slowly restore back the speed. But still the download speed not really high as before. I also test it with my mobile phone and it's not really stable specially 5 GHz band. The chance of issue comes from router firmware is very high.

I hope your engineer can work together with Killer Networking engineer to solve this issue better. I also hope I can see the new update release from both sides to address this issue. Killer support email is killersupport@rivetnetworks.com.

Edit 1: Btw is that possible to downgrade firmware version?
Edit 2: Your engineer really need to take this matter seriously. Never release unstable firmware build like this before testing thoroughly at real environment.
Edit 3: I also notice that signature version update always fail. Not sure whether it will have any impact or not.

Hi optimisez,

Can you try downgrade the firmware to the previous version and try again?

Thank you

Hi ASUSmy,
Can I just use firmware upgrade to downgrade firmware as shown below? Or I need my router to enter rescue mode and use firmware restoration utility?

Hi optimisez,

Yes, you can use the firmware upgrade page to downgrade the firmware, just download the previous firmware manually and upload it from this page.

Remember to unzip the file first.

Thank you

Hi ASUSmy,
Do I need to perform hard reset as shown below before downgrading the firmware?

Hi optimisez,

You can just try straight away to downgrade the firmware, if you felt like there is something wrong then only you do a factory reset.

Thank you

Thanks for the replying. Btw have you report the bug to your router engineers so they can release DSL-AC52U new firmware sooner?

Edit: I successfully roll back my DSL-AC52U router back to older 1.1.2.3_552-g3626ab6 firmware and everything back to normal again.
