I currently have an AX-3000 (main) paired to a AC-68U (mesh node).
Am thinking of getting an AX-56U to serve as a mesh node on the ground floor.
Is there a reason why the AX-56U is a quad-core router vs. the AX-3000 tri-core??? Is it superior to the AX-3000?

QUOTE(JayceOoi @ Aug 19 2020, 11:01 AM) Based on my test, AX3000 is better than AX56U on AiMesh. Change of plan ..... I think I will just get the AX-6100 pair, and use as main router + wireless backhaul node for the ground floor Use the existing AX-3000 as a wired backhaul node for the top floor (i.e. house is 3 levels) AC-68U can put as wired node for one of the bedrooms My plan is to kill the retarded neighbour's multiple TP-Link repeater signals, which he uses on 2.4G and 40 MHz channel width .... Real retard!! This post has been edited by laksamana: Aug 19 2020, 11:30 AM

QUOTE(cjpomer @ Aug 19 2020, 01:35 PM) I just signed up for TIME internet. I have an ASUS RT-AC3200 that I would rather use than their TP-Link giveaway. I found the PPPoE username (example@timebb) and password, and entered them into the WAN settings page. Still not working... Anyone know of other PPPoE configuration settings necessary to make my router work? https://pictr.com/images/2020/08/19/7SIKfO.md.png During the easy setup phase, did the router ask for any "special requirements for ISP" ?? If Time has any special settings, this is the part you select it

QUOTE(vivre @ Aug 22 2020, 07:49 AM) Hi guys, I just moved into new house, before this I was using AC88U for my apartment and it worked great. Moving to new location, I have purchased Lyra Trio with the intention to help improve the coverage and signal quality. However, I struggle to make this setup works. My plan is to have single SSID, and using AC88U as the main node. I have laid Cat6 cable from various location to my AC88U location. Tried connecting them all (from LAN AC88U to all mesh’s LAN/WAN port) and still could t find’s them there. I looked up to several articles and made some amendment. It worked! BUT, the lyra seems to be on different SSID and also only the main Lyra can be connected to AC88U, and other nodes were relying on the 5GHz line. This is obviously not what I wanted earlier.. is it possible? Which port should I use to connect to the main router - LAN or WAN/LAN port at Lyra? Help me ... For the mesh node to work in wired ethernet mode, the cable should be connected to the WAN port from the LAN port of the main router

Using RT-AX3000 latest firmware
Had serious issues trying to update using automatic options via WRT / router app
Only way to update successfully was to perform a MANUAL upload of the firmware file through WRT
No issues atm, it's actually pretty good, resulting in a more stable / stronger connection as a mesh node

QUOTE(wailing81 @ Nov 2 2020, 02:52 PM) is it because i enable AX function, that's why some time those old devices will get disconnected? It's possible, but not always the case How old are the devices you are referring to? Is there a lot of interference? Weak / dead signal areas?

QUOTE(pokchik @ Jan 8 2021, 11:57 AM) any issues with adding RT-AC68U as mesh node for your TUF-AX3000? No issues at all In fact, the AC68U will be on the latest 386 firmware, which has AiMesh 2.0 AC68U is still a very capable router imo

QUOTE(pokchik @ Jan 8 2021, 12:10 PM) it still is, though one of my RT-AC68U goes kaput (been using 2x with AI Mesh) and now I'm looking at purchasing a newer AX router like you. glad to hear that it's working fine. now time to shop for AX router. I'm using AX86U as main, with AX3000 and AX55 as mesh nodes I won't recommend AX55, as the signal strength on both 2.4 and 5 is poor imo This post has been edited by laksamana: Jan 8 2021, 01:00 PM

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jan 28 2021, 01:13 PM) From what I see, it is a Xiaomi device that's facing unstable WiFi. What is the WiFi signal when this is happening? It could be due to weak signal which means your device will struggle to maintain a connection. Do you use the smart connect feature? If yes, disable it and use different name for 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz. Isolate whether it is due to the 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz. I have a Xiaomi phone, but thankfully not affected by the current issue (main + 2 nodes updated to 386 firmware) What I can conclude after using this phone for the last 3 years is that Xiaomi wifi performance is pretty poor to begin with, below par in both 2.4 and 5 bands

QUOTE(desires2 @ Feb 3 2021, 11:44 AM) Thanks for reply, Ryansxs. Yes, am using the Wifi Analyzer to check the channel, and ardy login to router setting switch to the recommended channel from Auto Speed still cant stable, up down up down ~ Used this APP : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...pro&hl=en&gl=USTry to set 5Ghz channel width to 40 Mhz using channel 48 or 149 Unless you have totally clear line of sight to the router, the 80 Mhz channel width will produce a weaker signal if there are walls
