Hi ASUSmy, I'm using RT-N18U now, but I'm having issue to setup the Guest network to run properly.

I have it setup in the web console page and the wifi devices can't connect to it (Cannot obtain IP for Open Network, and got authentication issue for WPA2-Personal). I'm using the latest firmware.

Any idea? Enabling/Disabling WPS didn't work.

Hi. The issue still exists. Had both my SSID and password changed too.

I have another issue too. My phone disconnects from the main SSID randomly (It works fine on TP-Link). My computer doesn't (using ASUS USB-N14 adapter).
Here's the settings you might be interested in. The channel is fixed to 1.

Hi, looks like it worked. For the phone issue, I lifted the power saving for wifi apk. Will get you back if it persists!
Does the router support SNMP? Read that only Merlin supports that and the model is not in the Merlin supported list.

I have a device attached to the USB2.0 port on the router. The system log shows :
kernel: hub 3-0:1.0: port 2 disabled by hub (EMI?), re-enabling...
from time to time.

How about USB AX adapter?

It is based on Intel AX200 right?

Just got the card, no issue with upload speed. I'm using RT-N18U though.

I would say, better off finding Intel on this.

Just jumped on ax bandwagon with PCE-AX58BT + RT-AX56U (was RT-N18U).
Finally getting solid 100Mbps.

If you ac gives you full speed, then continue using it. Not to say, you need ax device to take advantage of it.

Hi ASUSmy, I noticed a high latency issue during SSH between 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi. Router is RT-AX56U + latest firmware.

Combination (Server + Client = Result) :
2.4GHz n [Broadcom BCM43438] + 5GHz ax [Intel AX200] = Reproducible
2.4GHz n [Broadcom BCM43438] + 5GHz ac [Intel AX200] = Reproducible
2.4GHz n [Broadcom BCM43438] + 2.4GHz ax [Intel AX200] = Not reproducible
5GHz ac [Cypress CYW43455] + 5GHz ax [Intel AX200] = Not reproducible
2.4GHz n [Broadcom BCM43438] + 5GHz ax [Intel AX200] (SSH to a Gigabit LAN server and only ssh to the destination server) = Not reproducible

It seems to trigger when crossing different WiFi band.

Just use web UI, more functionality provided. Works regardless of platform.

You can definitely use it as router, then run Pi-Hole in your Pi.
In your DHCP settings, give a static IP address + DNS address (to Google DNS or something) to your Pi, then have the DHCP to send the DNS address of your Pi to other devices.

This way you get more control over the DNS service

Open up the 4.8Gbps band for your device to connect, then you will get Gigabit speed if your device has 2.4Gbps AX wifi adapter.

This is what I get with Intel AX210 (XT8 at downstairs)


Have you tried to fix your Wifi channels instead of leaving them as auto?
