QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Dec 2 2016, 03:24 PM) Hi kenlui, Can you try do a factory reset on the device and fix a WiFi channel on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Is all the device are having the same problem? Where do you put the router and is there any other WiFi device beside RT-AC1200G+. Thank you Yes almost all devices have problem detecting 5G. Router is situated next to the unifi STB but no other wifi devices nearby except my mac. By setting a dedicated wifi channel do u mean selecting a specfic number under the control channel option?

Hi ASUSmy,
I got a AC-RT68U as a gift from china but cant seem to get it connected to our local unifi. Im quite sure my username & pw is correct. Tried updating to the latest firmware from asus malaysia website but still cant seem to get it down. Is there any other settings that I should change? I called unifi and they ask to enquire with u guys.
The moment I switch my WAN cable back to my AC1200G, my unifi works as usual but when plugged in to the AC68. no connection to the internet is detected on the network page.
Hope to get some help from you guys.

QUOTE(jusbella @ Aug 15 2017, 11:48 PM) Check under LAN setting, then check IPTV setting, change to Unifi-Home profile, if don't have, set VLAN 500 for pppoe and VLAN 600 for hypptv. thanks! works fine now.

Hi guys,
Anybody knows that if it's possible to remove the vlan tagging for the LAN4 port for hyppTV?
I tried selecting none under the ISP profile and I can't even connect to unifi. Need the LAN4 port for other usage as I'm not using hyppTV at all.

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 26 2017, 08:39 PM) Select the Unifi-Business profile. It is basically the same thing just without HyppTV. Thanks for the tips. But i managed to configure it manually, Vlan tag for WAN is 500 while IPTV is 600. I just had to remove the tag from Lan4.

ASUSmy
I've no idea why I cant seem to connect to my AC68U from outside. Tried using the DDNS asuscomm.com but failed, tried connecting to the WAN IP failed as well. No issue with the asus app on iOS though.

Anybody has their asus routers set on scheduled reboot?
I used to set my AC68U to reboot 3 times a week, and after rebooting both my 2.4/5 GHZ wifi will go haywire and all my devices wont be able to reconnect. Have to manually restart most of the time. Hence I reduced mine to twice a week, and still the same issue. Any idea on what's wrong? I have home automation which relies on the internet connection so it's really troublesome to wake up finding that they are not working due to the router.

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Jan 10 2018, 10:06 AM) I recall that the scheduled reboot feature also made my AC68U's radios go nuts, forcing me to manually reboot the unit. Had assumed that this was a bug in the Merlin firmware. I now only manually reboot if there is an issue or after I update the firmware. My router runs 24x7 otherwise. Alright thanks mate for the reply. QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jan 10 2018, 10:13 AM) what automation eqpt causing u to to reboot your router frequently? Nah not automation equipment causing me to reboot my router but rather a habit of mine.

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Jan 10 2018, 11:34 AM) I used to reboot my non-asus routers previously too. Bad habit thanks to my old dlink and tplink routers. My AC68U so far runs for multiple weeks without issues. Daily reboot not required ha ha. Twice weekly reboot la haha.. QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jan 10 2018, 11:43 AM) Bad habits can kill! My exp, no need reboot unless problem with modem, unifi. Or when updating firmware. Ok thanks for the tips!

Hi guys,
I'm intending to get a AX86U as a mesh node for my exisiting AC5300U, I do understand that they are of different generation of wifi 5/6.
Hence my question as follow :
1. Would a AC68U be better suited in this situation? 2. Would I be able to fully utilize the wifi 6 coverage if I use the AC5300U as the main router instead of the AX68u?
I do understand if I choose to use the AX68U as main router, I'll loose the triband feature of the AC5300U which makes me reluctant.
Looking forward to any of your opinions!

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Sep 23 2020, 04:40 PM) Hi kenlui, You still can get the AX connectivity from the RT-AX86U if you set it as node. Thank you Thank you for your reply. So in this situation, the AC5300U is better suited to be the main router due to it's triband feature right?

QUOTE(Reyz @ Mar 19 2021, 06:05 AM) Hi bro..any speed drop when you combine your ac5300u with ax86u from device connected to node ax86u?im thinking to buy ac5300u as i can get cheap unit from friend.for now i owned tuf ax3000.is it more suitable for ac5300u for main router and tuf ax3000 as node?scared got bottleneck speed when my wifi 6 device connected to tuf ax3000 as node.what your suggestion? Yes I noticed a small speed drop but not significant. Im using my 5300 as the main router.
