Hey! I just purchased N18U few days ago and setup my UniFi connection without issue. However, when I tried to do a manual lan tagging for port 4 (am not using IPTV, so don't want waste it), the Internet connection stopped working.. after changing it back to UniFi profile then everything is working fine again... any solution for this?

Selecting unifi business is supposed to free up the port regular usage

Be careful using the Unifi Business setting.

If I am not mistaken, it requires a fixed IP address which is not available to Unifi home users.

hmm..i didn't set anything else though...juz changed the setting at IPTV tab

AsusMY, is there any way that I can trace which IP is using the most data in my network? So far, I can only see which network mode (wired/wireless) is using the most data

I see... besides that... i would also like to ask have any of you faced these issues:

1) Speedtest will never give full speed, no matter wired or wireless. Currently using 50mbps UniFi, but my max speed from speedtest always capped at around 42 to 45. Testings are done with the devices just beside router. I am the only admin of this network, so no one is capping my speed.

2) Wifi will suddenly drop and cannot connect back..when check, it says connection error... tried to forget the network in the device and put in password again, it will says password incorrect (although i triple check the router for wifi password).

1) TM's issue. I never actually try the WAN to LAN throughput of Asus routers but it should be more than capable of 50Mbps. Singaporeans use it on their 1Gbps plan.

2) It happens when the wifi is weak or unstable. Stand closer to the router next time. Wireless best config for 2.4Ghz (20Mhz, channel 1/6/11, WPA2 AES)

What model you use?
*
1) Ok tested with my old router. Same issue. Conclusion: TM's issue

2) But I am getting full bar. Wireless best config i tot 40mhz? And why 1/6/11?

using N18U

I am using RT-AC55UHP router for my Unifi 30MB. So far when I used speedtest, I always get 30Mb DL and 10Mb upload... Wired or wireless....
*
Not sure is it my area connection got problem...that's why the speed test got issue.

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Feb 22 2017, 11:23 PM)
2) 2.4Ghz is too congested. Don't make it worst. 1/6/11 are non-overlapping.
*
I see..noted...will change it now...and the channel width...20mhz better?

Many public DNS servers to choose from. I configured my router with 1 from Google (main) and 1 from Verisign (backup).

*
i can only set 1 DNS (primary) for my N18U

can't seems to set 2

For my AC68U, I set under DHCP server settings, not under WAN. This means all my client devices get 2 DNS server IPs.
*
I set at DHCP as well previously...so i get 1 Google DNS and another 1 is ISP's DNS

just found out that I can set under WAN...gonna try it out now

I have relocated my workstation around my house, this time moved it to my room but unfortunately the network in room is weak, I have searched on ASUS website on the router that covers "Very large house" and the results come with only two, RTAC5300 and RTAC88U of which both of these routers are freaking expensive, but i guess there is a price to pay.

The problem is my unifi router is placed in the back of my house which is in a guest room and I am here in my room which is upstairs and the walls are really thick so the connection frequently disconnects or weaken,

was hoping to get an answers here of other recommendations other than the above routers i mentioned of which i dont know how far their range would be able to cover also.
*
considered powerline adapter?

do u need AC?

can check those routers with high gain antenna, n14uhp, ac55uhp

Hi jacky91,

The firmware are the same, so they are able to support UNIFI.

But the warranty won't be cover in Malaysia.

Thank you
*
noted on the warranty, but for the firmware part...i tot the routers bought in Malaysia have special profile for UniFi?
