Hi all, need some opinion on getting new a wireless router to have better connectivity.

Current setup : Single user on 100Mb line hooking up to Asus RT-AC1200G+ wireless router situated in living room and laptop in bedroom (about 5 meters away with a wall in between)

Problem : Although I can surf the net and stream YouTube without issues, it is when during conference call, the other side would say my line is not clear/ breaking up and I had to move my laptop to living room which is closer to the wireless router.

Plan : Replacing the existing Asus RT-AC1200G+ with RT-AX3000 but not sure this would help since my laptop is old unit.

Any thoughts whether this (changing wireless router) will improve my connectivity?

I am using Asus Zenwifi XD5 and occasionally, there are two issues I am facing; wifi disconnection and blue blinking light (for one of the units).
I need to manually reboot it by switching off and on in order for them to work like normal.
I am wondering anybody facing the same issue(s).
