My existing TPLink wireless router for unifi has some problem with WIFI breaking.
I intend to get either ASUS RT-N16 or RT-N66U ? Is it difficult to set up these routers for UNIFI ? Need to flash new firmware etc...? |

Hi,
Subject: Unifi TPLink wireless router I have replaced a few wireless routers for my UNIFI over the years, and all are with wireless malfunctions. Wired connections are all perfect. Its the wireless issues. 1. If i use back the router (with only wireless malfunctions), is there a way i can buy another wireless device separately and connect it to the LAN of the wireless faulty router, so that i can connect wireless with the wireless device? Because everytime when the wireless malfunctions, i just discard and replace with a whole new wireless router which is quite sayang.. |

Let say I install a RTN16 wireless router in ground floor.
At upper floor back room signal only 1 bar(very low). If I connect a Lan cable from RTN16 to the back room, what device should I install in the back room to broadcast the WIFI signal? Meaning: GroundFloor RTN16 -> Lan cable -> Upperfloor back room (Device) to broadcast wifi. 1. What device can do the job? 2. Can the device share the same SSID as the RTN16 in ground floor? 3. Or the device must have a separate SSID on its own, and that I must connect to its SSID when I m at the back room, and when i walk to ground floor, i disconnect its SSID and reconnect to the RTN16 SSID at ground floor? @ASUSmy
Good day ASUSmy. I am using ASUS router RT-AC66U with Unifi 50mbps. If I upgraded my Unifi to 100mbps, can this router support 100mbps? |

UNIFI just upgraded mine from 50 to 100Mbps, and I am still using my ASUS RT-AC66U router.
I consistently get Download 101Mbps and Upload 52Mbps. |

Considering between RT-AX3000 vs. RT-AX86U.
Whats the key difference between them? Bcoz RT-AC86U is much more expensive. This post has been edited by chinkw1: Oct 6 2024, 11:51 AM |
