Hi there. Can you explain in layman terms the difference between High End WiFi product - 802.11ac & 802.11n series Wireless Router and Wireless Application Router / WiFi Storage / WiFi ADSL router?

I'm looking at the RT-N56U and the DSL-N55U. What I basically want is to use Sony's Remote Play feature in my daughter's room on the floor above my current modem + router setup. Did some reading and I plan to use the 5Ghz range for it.

Currently using UniFi.

Can I get a suggestion?

What's the best router option for a 4500sqf 2 story bungalow?

Usage not heavy. 4-5 devices running Facebook/YouTube/netflix and 1 ps4 for online gaming.

Currently using 5mbps unifi with default router woth plans to upgrade to 30mbps.

No need high end. Most important is coverage and stability. Dual-band not necessary.

I've recently switched ISP. Previously had a second router (ASUS Rt ac68u) as an access point. I've factory resetted my that router and now I cant access the router settings to reconfigure it to the new ISP settings. I've tried 192.168.1.1 and it doesnt work. says site cannot be reached. I've run ipconfig -all in command prompt and default gateway for the ethernet is blank. How can I configure my router if I cant access the settings? I've resetted the router so many times

Can you connect to the wireless network of the router after RESET?
*
Funnily enough, I just got it to work and it seems to be on the SSID that I set before reset and it's behaving like an AP. I still cant access router settings though.

meaning it was not reset?

try hard reset. worst come to worst. set static ip on your pc

I used the reset button at the back of the router. I'm perplexed too

As Firdausbhari has mentioned, try to set static IP for your PC.

If default for your Asus router is 192.168.0.1, set your PC IPV4 as 192.168.0.50 , Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
and the gateway as 192.168.0.1

I would use wired connection (LAN) to router. In this case, set the IPV4 on your Network Adaptor.

let us know how it goes

Thanks. Since it's working now, I won't be messing with it anymore. I just cant access the settings. Fortunately I don't have to.

I'll keep this in mind if I need to reconfigure settings.
