currently using asus rt-n12hp, can I download the latest firmware from asus website, will it support Unifi?

I have a problem with this rt-n12hp, the problem is even this router has a high power, the wifi devices I have can never get it full bar and I have several wifi devices having the same issue.
there is once I even sit right beside the router, to my surprise, it's not getting a full bar either. based on your experience and expertise, do you think this problem belongs to the router? |
