1. QOS, seem all QOS rule i setting is not working, unless i put my PC IP address as QOS rule it will work.
Example:
- Youtube didn't use rule HTTP, SSL & WWW, SSL, because i check traffic monitor it just using LOW priority rule.
- HTTP download using IDM, also using LOW priority rule.
- Youtube upload video, also using LOW priority rule.

2. IPTV, My Singapore friend want upgrade router , so i recommend RT-N56U to him. I bring my modem help my friend test Singtel MIO TV didn't work, his network is ADSL 15mbps, Modem is TP Link 8817 setting VCI 0/100 as bridge, RT-N56U setting as PPPoE, RT-N56U can connected to internet. But when i go to LAN--> IPTV choose Singtel MIO or Singtel Others, PPPoE could not connect to internet. When i set IPTV back to NONE, PPPoE is connected to internet.

Hi JosephChen,

Can try on the beta firmware below? It fixed some problem with the QoS.
https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/s/5...0A2F366771AA19Y

And as for your friend at SG, i will need to check with RD and get back to you ASAP. May I know does your friend try do a factory reset before?

Thank you

I will try beta firmware on tomorrow.

For IPTV, i have do a factory reset few time due to PPPoe not connect to internet issue. found the root cause due to IPTV setting. THanks

FYI, new beta firmware QOS is work! But IPTV still not working.

For QOS, mean whole network dl can up to 11.2 Mb/s or single PC dl can up to 11.2 Mb/s?
WWW, SSL, HTT... Priority = High, DL = 11.2 Mb/s, Upload = 272 Kb/s

Plan is 15Mbps mio Home, ADSL

Modem is Aztech DSL1015EW(S)

I do research for this issue, found a thread. RT-N56U modem only can be AP router, RT-N56U can't be a AP router because Aztech DSL1015EW(S) is a lousy router modem, nat session only 2k. i will moving to his house on next month, so i bring my my RT-N56u router modem to his house to test. House got 8 ppl, total 15 device connected to router, we need a good router to handle to workload. We consider to buy RT-N56u or RT-N66u if router can support IPTV-Mio TV

Singtel ADSL users, please take note:
The Singtel presets are NOT for you, since they only work for Singtel exStream Fibre. Enabling the presets will only serve to disable your internet connection as well as other related services.

You can however

still use the N56U in Router Mode with a standalone ADSL modem to the WAN port and WAN connection type set to PPPoE (these modems are somehow rare nowadays though) to get internet connectivity and let the N56U handle routing and wireless and theoretically give you the best possible performance (assuming no MioTV or MioVoice; no 2Wire in this scenario),

or

use the N56U in Access Point Mode (WAN port to LAN port of 2Wire; in this mode, WAN port of N56U becomes a LAN port with DHCP disabled) to take advantage of the N56U's wireless capabilities. Some limited additional functionalities like media server and USB ports are still available in this mode as well, and you will still be able to log in to the N56U’s admin page. The 2Wire will handle routing, MioTV and MioVoice. Avoid bridging the 2Wire to the N56U since this will only cause MioTV issues.

ADSL story short – Singtel presets not for you; if you have an N56U or are planning to get one, it either works as a normal router with a standalone ADSL modem w/o MioTV and MioVoice, or as an access point with MioTV and MioVoice still being served by the 2Wire.

Website state only support 2TB. If i buy 3 TB ext. HDD, create 2 partition (2TB & 1TB), RT-N56U can recognize 2 partition (2TB & 1TB)? Thanks.

Hi JosephChen,

This problem happen after firmware update or any changes done or it just happen to be like this.

Thank you

We just upgrade to fiber and aware this issue. Not sure previous firmware have this issue or not. not sure any clue can found from log?

This issue happen frequency during heavy download or torrent(download about 6-12 mb/s, upload 6-12 mb/s). Most frequency reboot during torrent download. I scare router could not handle the load, it shouldn't happen for this high end router due to heavy torrent or download. I'm also have experience with DLink router, when heavy download/torrent, router also reboot itself.

try downgrading your firmware to 3.0.0.4.270. if it still restart then your router highly suspect hardware problem.

i did upgraded fw to 3.0.0.4.374.979 but for wifi throughput not stable. you are downgrading your signal strength.
*
Ya, i also notice firmware 3.0.0.4.374.979 Wifi range not good as previous firmware. Previous firmware one of the room can found wifi signal, but 3.0.0.4.374.979 can't find the signal. Wait AsusMy diagnostic the issue first before try downgrade to previous firmware version, it maybe can found a bug and improve in next version.
