Hi Asusmy
I recently noticed that i had a firmware update for my ASUS RT-AC55UHP and updated it to 3.0.0.4.380.4180 and since then my 1st Gen Chromecast does not detect my home wifi network at all, i never had any such issues with the older firmware ie 3.0.0.4.378.5209 . I have to reboot the router every time for my chrome cast to connect to the wifi, once connected it works without a problem till i power off my TV and when i have to switch on my TV again chrome cast would say that it cannot find the wifi network. After doing some basic troubleshooting like resetting the chrome cast to factory defaults it still did not work, so i decided to roll back to the earlier firmware and now everything is working fine, i called ASUS tech support to report this and to my dismay the tech support guy did not even know what a chrome cast is and he googled it while i was on the call, all he could say was that he will inform the management about this update issue. seriously? is this what you call ASUS tech support? i am kinda disappointed on how the tech support guy replied.
Any suggestions or tips to fix this is much appreciated

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Jan 10 2017, 05:35 PM) Hi Hutchy, May I know, have you tried to do a factory reset on the router and redo the setting? You can even try fix a WiFi channel on the router and see the problem still persist or not. Thank you Hi Asusmy, Yes i have tried factory resetting the router a number of times and redid the settings but it doesn't help. I have also set a wifi channel as well and i still have the issue. Any other suggestions? Regards

I would like to mention that the current firmware is working fine with my chromecast so i was wondering how downgrading the current firmware to a much older one will help sort the issue. Friends I have a weird experience with my Asus router. I have a Unifi Turbo 500Mbps plan and my router is Asus RT-AC55UHP and with a CAT6 ethernet cable the max speed i get is less than 250Mbps, i launched a complaint with Unifi and they sent their technicians to check and the guys who came to check the issue suggested to used my stock Unifi router which is Dlink DIR-850L and to everyones surprise i was getting 500+Mbps speed with the Dlink router.
So here is my confusion i thought the Asus RT-AC55UHP was an advanced router as compared to the DIR-850L and the technicians from unifi also agreed but none of us were able to say why the ASUS router cannot even reach 300Mbps while the Dlink obtained 500+Mbps speed consistently. Any thoughts on this? FYI i have the latest firmware, tried factory resetting the router and configured it fresh but it still cannot reach the speed above 250Mbps. One of the other forum member suggested me to do a 30 30 30 reset and after that i am now getting speeds upto 320Mbps which is better than the previous speed of less than 250 Mbps. Is it an issue with the router itself where i cannot get speeds of 500Mbps?

QUOTE(pl95077 @ Nov 5 2018, 01:54 PM) Luckily still can find the beta FW of RT-AC55UHP from previous shared, please download and upgrade from below link: https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/s/B...8A1EEFE35D1B98YThanks buddy, i think this firmware did the trick, now i am able to achieve 500+ Mbps and 100Mbs+ DL/UL using a CAT6 LAN cable. my wifi speeds are 2.4 Ghz - 90/45 DL/UL 5Ghz - 320+/102 DL/UL aren't these reasonable speeds? Thanks again for the firmware:D This post has been edited by Hutchy: Nov 7 2018, 06:58 PM

QUOTE(pl95077 @ Nov 8 2018, 07:56 AM) If your package is 500Mbps, it consider GOOD. what wifi client you are using? I use my MacBook air, note 8,Lenovo Thinkpad X1 yoga, and iPad. All these give me more or less similar speeds. This post has been edited by Hutchy: Nov 9 2018, 10:28 AM
