I just bought a new Asus RT-N12HP to replace my unifi DIR-615 router.

Previously I had my cctv installer setup the DVR to the router for online viewing of my CCTV. On this new router, I have totally no idea on how to setup my DVR to be connected to the internet.

Anyone can guide me with the process of port forwarding from the dvr right up to setting up the DDNS thingy?

My old one was registered to dlinkddns.com but I cannot find that dlinkddns.com in the Asus router DDNS page..

Really need some guide here, if possible can teamviewer me.. I'd give you a small tip if u can successfully make it work..

For the DDNS part, you should fill up the DDNS page as follows:-

dlinkddns.com has been taken over by DynDNS, and your existing hostname, userID and password are already registered in the DynDNS database.

For the port-forwarding part, just copy the existing parameters from the Dlink DIR-615 to the ASUS RT-N12HP.

Thanks, but I can no longer access anything from the DIR-615 anymore. Its a useless paperweight already

Currently using 3.0.0.4.376_2048-gd2ae809 on my RT-N12HP, if I update to the latest 3.0.0.4.376.4018 , will it effect any customised settings that I have in my router?

u might got wireless overlapping with neighbor wireless.

U need to use wifi analyzer to check, which channel not in use, then use tat channel and test again.

Checked already, there only 2-3 SSID and all of them have different channels.. Yet it it still dropping at random times

Tried switching my wifi channel, it is still dropping very frequent and very hard to connect to the network, any other solutions? This happens to all my devices, so its not a particular device issue

Hi Boy96,

May I ask, is all your wireless device already having the same problem? And your disconnection is WiFi disconnection and not the Internet connection right?

Thank you

Yes, 1 laptop 1 desktop, 2 android smartphones all having similar issues, the wifi would simply disconnect at random time and would reconnect by itself few minutes later, and then wifi connection would drop again

Im using RT-N12HP but having issues with the wifi on this router, all my device takes a very long time to connect to the wifi and will disconnect not long after it gets connected, some more the speed I am getting is less than 1mbps out of 30mbps unifi

As a temporary solution, I hooked up my old ProLink router into the Asus router, turned OFF Wi-Fi radio on the Asus router and use the ProLink router wifi instead

Is there any workaround for this issue?

Hi Boy96,

Can you try updating the firmware to the latest?

https://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN12HP_B1/...pDesk_Download/

And try fixing and changing the WiFi channel on the ASUS router.

Thank you
