But I don't understand one thing though. Probably I'm still new to HDD on a console but if you install a game on computer, you can play without the disc.
Why console is different? Or why Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are different?
Why PC is different? Most PC games does require you to have the disc present in order to launch the game, unless you're either talking about pirated games, or buying online version from Steam. If it's the latter, then console also have similar version, for Xbox 360, it's called Games on Demand. Not sure about PS3 though.
A HDD on the console is for installing games, so that a game can run faster (HDD access times are faster than DVD/BluRay drives) and also prolong the lens "life".
