I understand that Ipad is also capable of downloading Kindle apps. If those of us already have Ipad, do u still want to get a Kindle? may i know why u still want to get Kindle if you already have ipad?

anyone have both device right now?

In Malaysia, a Kindle is close to useless. In the US, Kindles are popular because of the Amazon Prime accounts which allow you to buy ebooks, etc easily.

Since in Malaysia, most eBooks are 'ahem', there is no difference between a Kindle and any other tablet.

I have both devices. I just got my Kindle PW last week and I simply love it. The only reason I got Kindle is that I want to treat my two eyeballs better. After a long day at work facing the computer screen, it's straining my eyes further to read on the bright iPad screen.

glad to give my opinion here biggrin.gif
FOR READING PURPOSES ONLY

kindle wins hands down, no offense to all apple users
i can read for hours and hours and hours and hours on my kindle 5
no eye irritation, no glare, no dry eyes at the end of every reading rclxms.gif
going online, not so fancy but can get the work done

as for the ipad,
it is quite difficult to balance it for one hand reading
and the auto rotation can sometimes make me wanna hurl that electronic across the room
and it heats up on my palm...
battery life very low...
what else, what else

conclusion: just get a kindle 5 if you want a budget e-reader
anything else pm me smile.gif

hi guys.  i am using galaxy note all these while to read on ebooks. and since galaxy note is 5.3" vs kindle of 7"/8", will i be able to notice any significant difference? not sure if rm400+ expense on kindle is worth it..  need some comments.
*
Definitely, that's if you're talking about galaxy note vs kindle touch / kindle paper white.

As long as it uses the e-ink display you're gold. The only kindle that I don't recommend is kindle fire

got it bro. thanks!

but any reason why not on kindle fire?
*
Because it's display is just like another android tablet on the market, which makes the fire an android tablet with built in amazon app / kindle app

So there's a way to screw authors and publishers by stealing all their works?

If it is VPN then technically you're still buying a legal copy. Unless what OP means by hack is an actualy hack that allows you to download for free, then it is illegal and considered jack sparrow.

Bought Kindle back in September and I never regretted it! As an avid reader, I was suprised Kindle managed to replace my love for physical books. The main reason being the flat screen, as opposed to how books bend near the spine.

I got the basic Kindle 5 for the e-ink screen. Not only is it easier on the eyes, the battery just last and last and last. I also love how I can pick up and put down the Kindle like a book without worrying about the battery discharging too much. On average I charge my Kindle about once a month.

The font on the Kindle is nice looking and at a perfect size too. I compared between the ebook version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to my few years old hard cover book and the font on the book was so small it was less enjoyable to read.

In truth, I've been eyeing the Kindle ever since it came out. I'm glad the price has finally dropped to be more affordable. I pretty much immediately placed an order after finding out about the new price! rclxm9.gif

Erm ... that is the one Kindle that does not have an e-ink screen. You know, the one Jess7 is so happy about. The Kindle Fire HD uses a backlit screen, just like the Ipad, all the other tables, and notebook computers.

Every offshore engineer and sailor I know uses Kindle. They spend hundreds of dollars on ebooks at every purchase.
