Can this be a Repeater or can you point me to a Mikrotik porduct that can?

the thing that I'm interested in is the 1000mw that this wireless router is capable..

right now I have both Asus RT-N12UHP and RT-N14UHP which both provides 200mw

Hi antonio,

Every MikroTik device with wireless radio and RouterOS license level 3 or above is capable to be a wireless bridge or repeater. All the wireless models selling by us has at least license level 4, including the model in this post, they are all capable of it.

So you are free to select any of them. biggrin.gif

The difference is the PoE output on the last port, one has it and the other not. Please check PM. biggrin.gif

Sorry for the late reply.

Got it last Thursday or Friday, I forgot already. Took me 2 days to understand the basic and configure it....
Clear the default config which I don't really like as they bridge all the FE port all and make use FE1 for wan port. Change the wan port to Port10, wasted the PoE function but I didn't plan to use it. Bridge FE01, E06 and wlan1. Master-slave the rest to FE01 and E06.

Firewall part really got into me, damn. End up copy the default config firewall and dump into my current config. heck....
And finally got it work. PPPoE connection establish real fast. Hence this is my main reason to change my router as the old Belkin tend to hang and need to hard restart it.

Well, got a quick question. By default, I can use webfig to access my router. But If with my current config, which is quite basic, I can't seem to access my router with webfig. In the browser, it just state this webpage is not available....any ideal?

And 1 more question. Do you have Mikrotik AP to sell? Feel like wanna bridge it at my house ground floor to boost the signal. Currently using Asus Mobile 3-1 router, which is good but not good enough.

Finally. You done a great job by sending it fast to me. Here is Pictures.

No problem bro, thanks for sharing us your experience with the MikroTik router from us. rclxms.gif

Did your current config disabled the www service under "IP Service List" or Firewall? Both are main methods to disallow the webfig access.

Actually MikroTik models with wireless are the AP, you can use any one of them to configure as AP, including this one RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN or RB951 series. smile.gif

Thanks for your support!

Yes, seems like it.. But I am not well verse with Networking stuff actually.. Still trying to learn..

Currently I have my network setup as follow

Location 1:
Unifi BTU
Unifi Modem as DHCP router
Unifi TV Box

Location 2:
Gigabit router as bridge connection (using WPS)
Printer via LAN
Desktop 1 via LAN
Desktop 2 via LAN

My objective
I want to upgrade all network to Gigabit LAN
Add a NAS (maybe needing 2 LAN port) should be on location 2 to maximise transfer speed
Swap out the Unifi Modem as it is not very stable. Require reset sometimes TVBox also freeze..

Can you suggest me how should I setup my network?

Bro, sorry to tell that consultation is our paid service, you can ask for our quote if you need our advice... biggrin.gif

Anyway you can start improving your network by first replacing the stock router, which is well known for its issues and instability.

Hi,
Is there any significant gain in terms of wireless strength when compare this to RB951G-2HnD?
What are the other significant advantage when compare this to RB951G-2HnD?
I am actually a home user but i do not mind to pay for extra if there is significant benefit between this and RB951G-2HnD.

Also pm me your best price. and let me know is it possible to arrange COD in weekend.
Thanks!

Hi hui00744,

In controlled environment, RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN is much better in wireless as it has 2 external antennas while RB951G-2HnD has internal antennas, however the result may varies in different environment. smile.gif

The price is RM500. Kindly let us know the time you are coming by today so we can arrange the COD as we do not usually open in weekend.

Thanks!

Hi darylding2000,

Yes this is an excellent replacement for Maxis Thomson router! Yes we can help to setup for Maxis Fiber, please mention it when you place order with us in PM.

The Thomson router will connect to MikroTik router as a gateway for VOIP, your phone will be kept connected to Thomson and working as usual.
