Currently iPhone 5 / iPad's LTE won't work with Malaysia's LTE band

smart move. actually mini wifi is so sufficient. cellular is just a waste of money. Tether hotspot from iphone will do the trick. Most places we are and we go all equip with wifi connection. Why pay 40% more for something which is dispensable? betul tak?

i dont think tether from iPhone is a good idea, i did it last week when i went oversea, once the iphone run out of battery, you will end out loss connectivity to phone call and internet, with ipad maybe 70% of battery to swipe left and right.

in malaysia i get a data plan for the mini because i dont want to search for wifi hotspot all the time, which might be slow and insecure to do online banking transaction.

but i do agree that the rm400 increment to get cellular, as well as rm300 to get extra 16gb is too much, especially for Malaysian.

For Malaysia, LTE band will be running at:

a) 2600MHz (main band, confirmed)
+
b) 1800MHz (supplemantary band to be confirmed later time but this appeared in newspaper biz section)

note:
* Unlike 3G, LTE frequency band adoption is quite diversed by different country/region in the world.
There are 2600MHz, 2300MHz, 2100MHz, 1800MHz, 1700/2100MHz, 1700MHz, 1500MHz, 900MHz, 800MHz, 700MHz.

From Yahoo: Singapore Singtel & M1 also confirmed using 2600MHz + 1800MHz for their LTE (neighborhood countries mah, and telco here got partnership/share holding at there, Malaysia & Singapere always compatible, so this is strong indication of using both 2600MHz + 1800Mhz same here in Malaysia)

My phone must have data but not on ipad.. Impossible for me to get two data for phone and ipad since i got streamyx at home also.. My phone go with me anywhere.. Ipad not really.. I wont be bringing ipad to club.. So data is not a must for my ipad..

No need to jailbreak la. Go google up other methods to install paid apps, if this is your objective to jailbreak.

Hi all, any idea how to watch RMVB files on ipad mini? and how to transfer the files from PC into ipad mini? (not looking at converting RMVB to MP4 coz too many files.. )

I agree with you. If do tethering from iPhone, I guess my iPhone would just died within hours. Which is why I chose to take broadband plan on my iPad and do tethering from my iPad. (My iPhone has no data plan)
iPad's battery is so much more durable compare to iPhone

And I do bring my iPad mini everywhere Since it's mini~

yea, if you able to bring mini all the time, tethering from ipad mini is the best to made iphone battery last, because using bt or wifi on iphone is much less battery consuming than using 3g, and the mini still able last 1 days with 2 device connected to internet. 

Anyone facing ipad mini can't charge to 100% ?
