W700 already is an EOL product, current price is RM1999. Be sure to get it fast, because it is replaced by the inferior speced P3.

Yeah I just noticed that (thanks for pointing out!). I am wondering if I should hold my horses and wait for P3 i5 series.
thoughts?

To those contemplating W700 vs P3,

I am using a W700 here, n I am pretty happy with it.
It has a nice full hd screen , that's a plus.
Looks like Acer cut down the hardware specs on the P3 except the cpu which is a ivy bridge n the tablet is slightly lighter in weight.

Lower resolution lcd panel
Lower ram at 2gb
Ssd size smaller at 60gb

For a device that is hard to upgrade the specs ourselves , that makes the P3 a hard sell at it's current configuration n it's pricing. Even if it is equipped with a i5 cpu in upcoming version, I will think twice abt it unless Acer restore back the rest of the specs as per the W700 n without charging a hefty price for it.

Essentially Acer is cutting down cost here n there wit the P3 !!!!

Currently the model listed is an i3 Aspire P3, the specs of the i5 version is yet unannounced.
According to Acer, the i5 version will come with a better specification such as 4GB RAM on board.

Cheers.

I thought p3 i5 will come around this month?

what I concern is about the performance of graphic card hd3000/4000 and i3M series/ i5Y series.

is it huge performance different between this?

worth for rm300 and wait for p3 i5

According to Acer, yes it will be around this month but the date is yet unknown.
The i5Y will definitely have a better integrated graphic card (HD4000).
Both graphic cards will handle HD playback just fine.

No 3G, you can upgrade the SSD by yourself by referring to the first post.

Depends on your usage, my experience is 4-5 hours, wifi connected, browsing net, running torrent, Microsoft office.

Running torrent can get 4-5 hours I think is quite good right? hmm.gif Will consider this but hoping for an updated version. Sandy bridge is too old now.
