As the world's biggest and richest club, Manchester United reach a global fanbase.

Part of the attraction for fans around the world has been the football luminaries, such as George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton, who have graced the Old Trafford turf in a Manchester United shirt over the years.

Recently, Manchester United have continued to attract or develop some of the game's biggest names, with England stalwarts such as Paul Scholes and David Beckham having been regular fixtures in the Reds line-up.

The Manchester United team, past and present, reads like a who's who of world football.

It is only fitting that a great team should grace a great stadium. And with Old Trafford's recent development and the closure of Wembley, the ground is easily the largest in English football, holding in excess of 60,000 fans.

Despite this capacity, the demand to see United in action is so great that tickets are hard to come by.

But it isn't only Manchester United fans who flock to Old Trafford. The standard of the ground is such that it regularly hosts high-profile games, most notably, the Champions League Final and Great Britain rugby league games.

Rock fans have also made use of the Reds's facilities, watching a number of high-profile acts at the ground.

But it's football that will forever be synonymous with the Reds famous ground - and with good reason.

The last decade has seen Manchester United under the shrewd leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson maintain a virtual stranglehold on the Premiership crown.

Manchester United has won the league no fewer than 18 times in their history. They are also Cup Kings too, winning the FA cup 11 times, the league cup 4 times, as well as winning the European Super Cup, European Cup Winner's Cup, and 3 times being crowned European Cup champions.

Manchester United has long become a name associated with success both on and off the pitch.

As club profits continue to grow, Manchester United have become one of the richest sports clubs on the planet.

With supporters club branches on every continent, it's hard to go any where in the world and not see somebody wearing the famous red shirt of Manchester United.

QUOTE(zenix @ Nov 24 2009, 09:18 PM)
Hope Alien will sticky this info later.
Though written in 2006 so no Roy Keane yet.

Ex-United players that have moved on to become managers.

Written by Simon Stone (MARCH 22, 2006)

STEVE BRUCE (1987-1996): Took his first steps in management with Sheffield United in 1998, then swiftly moved on to Huddersfield, Wigan and Crystal Palace. Left Selhurst Park in acrimonious fashion after Birmingham targeted him as the replacement for Trevor Francis in 1991. Took Blues into the Premier League but after a heavy FA Cup defeat is struggling to keep his job.

MARTIN POWELL (1971-1983): Stylish and well-respected Scotland centre-half whose authoritative nature appeared to make him a natural for the management game. Lasted four months at Burnley.

SIR BOBBY CHARLTON (1956-1973): Arguably the finest English player of all time proved to be an unmitigated disaster as a manager. Claimed he was not given the resources to make a decent job of it at Preston but was never lured back into management following his departure after a single season.

STEVE COPPELL (1975-1983): After a knee injury cut his playing career short at just 28, Coppell turned his attention to management. Steered Crystal Palace into the FA Cup final and then third place in the old First Division - the Eagles' highest ever - the following season. It was the first of four stints in charge at Selhurst Park in a career which has seen him move to Manchester City (for only six games), Brentford and Brighton. Now at Reading and about to steer the Royals into the top flight for the first time.

PADDY CRERAND (1962-1971): A key figure in United's 1968 European Cup triumph, Crerand lasted five months at Northampton before getting the bullet and, like Charlton, never managed again.

MARK HUGHES (1983-86, 1988-95): Hughes was never tipped as a manager by Ferguson but has taken to the game with ease. Took Wales into the Euro 2004 play-offs. Took over at Blackburn shortly afterwards, steering Rovers away from danger in his first season. Currently in contention for a Champions League spot.

BRIAN KIDD (1967-1974): Another European Cup winner who proved to be a poor manager. Got itchy feet in 1998 after spending seven years as Sir Alex Ferguson's highly-rated assistant. Took command at Blackburn but dismissed six months later.

BRYAN ROBSON (1981-94): United's inspirational leader under Ron Atkinson and Ferguson. There are two schools of thought on his stint at Middlesbrough - he either spent lots and achieved little (relegation and two losing finals) or he laid the platform for the Teessiders to become an established Premiership outfit. Kept West Brom up in extraordinary fashion last year but back in trouble again this season.

GORDON STRACHAN (1984-89): Scotland international who won the FA Cup with United and the title of the pre-Premiership era with Leeds. Sacked after five years at when the Sky Blues lost top-flight status, then enjoyed success at Southampton - reaching the 2003 Cup final - before resigning to spend more time with his family. Now at Celtic, has recovered from a humiliating Champions League exit to Artmedia Bratislava, and, after winning his first trophy on Sunday in the CIS Insurance Cup, is set to clinch the Scottish Premier League.

NOBBY STILES (1960-71): Along with Charlton, one of only two Englishmen to have won the World Cup and European Cup, he replaced his former England and United team-mate at Preston, with limited success. After a brief stint in Vancouver, returned to England to take over as manager of West Brom. Sacked after five months, having gained just three wins.

Fergie says focus on spat with Dean is price of being at "most famous club in world" not a "wee club in the north-east like Newcastle"

meanwhile,

@DiscoMirror: Fergie on Pardew: "He is the worst for haranging referees. His whole staff, every game. He was at it the whole game on Wed." #MUFC

@DiscoMirror: More Fergie on Pardew: "He shoves a ref then makes a joke of it, then he's got the cheek to criticise me. It's unbelievable." #MUFC #NUFC

Duo may be fit for Baggies

Danny Welbeck and Ashley Young could return for Saturday's visit of West Brom but Sir Alex Ferguson will assess the fitness of his squad after the midweek exertions against Newcastle.

The attacking pair missed out on the 4-3 Boxing Day thriller but, with Shinji Kagawa also a possible inclusion as a substitute, there should be more forward options open to the boss.

Wayne Rooney's injury is improving but he will again miss out while Ryan Giggs is unlikely to feature despite his superb second-half display against the Magpies.

"I can't give you an update on the injuries as it's only two days on from Wednesday and there were issues with a soft, tiring pitch," Sir Alex said at his press conference. "We need to assess players like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs as I think, at their age, it took a lot out of them.

"We're hoping maybe Young will be ready and Daniel Welbeck should be ready. He was ill on Tuesday night but I think he should be okay. At least that's a couple of bodies back fresh for us. We'll just assess the rest in terms of tiredness.

"All the players are key now as we're picking up one or two injuries. Rooney is out for at least another two games. He was a bit better yesterday. We're going to assess Phil Jones but I don't think he'll be ready."

Shinji Kagawa enjoyed a work-out on the field before the 4-3 win against Newcastle, even though he was not part of the matchday squad.

"Shinji wanted to do a warm-up and training on the pitch and he is getting close," explained Sir Alex. "I'll see what he's like today and I could maybe put him on the bench tomorrow depending on who is available.

"The most important thing is to assess the tiredness and also the fitness of one or two others."

Ferguson reacts angrily to Pardew comments

QUOTE
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson made a stinging response to Newcastle boss Alan Pardew's assertion that he should be punished for misconduct, branding Pardew's side a "wee club in the north east".

The FA confirmed on Thursday that Ferguson would not face any disciplinary action for his furious reaction to referee Mike Dean overruling assistant Jake Collin and awarding Newcastle's second goal in the Premier League leaders' 4-3 win at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.

Ferguson could not contain his anger and confronted Dean, Collin and fourth official Neil Swarbrick.

Pardew said of the incident on Thursday: "I think there were a lot of things the FA could look at. But it seems they are looking at none."

However, Ferguson used his press conference ahead of Saturday's home game against West Bromwich Albion to hit back at Pardew and the media for the coverage devoted to the issue.

"I was demonstrative but I was not out of order,'' he said. "The press have had a field day. The only person they have not spoken to is Barack Obama because he is busy,

"It is unfortunate but I am the manager of the most famous club in the world. Not Newcastle, a wee club in the north east.

"I was demonstrative. I am always demonstrative. Everyone knows that. I am an emotional guy. But I was not abusive.

"I shouted Mike over. We walked towards each other. I was only on (the pitch) three or four yards. That has been overplayed.

"The problem for me is that the profile of this club is huge.

"Alan Pardew has come out and criticised me. He is the worst at haranguing referees. He shoves them and makes a joke of it. How he can criticise me is unbelievable. He forgets the help I gave him, by the way."

Pardew was given a two-match touchline ban and fined £20,000 after accepting an FA charge of improper conduct for pushing assistant referee Peter Kirkup earlier this season.

He was sent off during the 2-1 win over Tottenham on August 18 at St James' Park when he pushed the official after claiming the ball had gone out of play during a Spurs attack.

United can go 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League on Saturday if they beat West Brom and champions Manchester City lose at Norwich.

His wording was like of a person betrayed by someone he thought of as a friend, rather than just feeling petty. One thing's for sure, with Pardew's 8-year contract there would be plenty of explosive encounters down the road until SAF retires.

QUOTE
Wenger: Ferguson should have been punished

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reopened his long-standing feud with Sir Alex Ferguson by claiming the Manchester United boss should have been punished for his angry confrontation with the match officials during his side's Boxing Day win against Newcastle.

Ferguson launched an angry on-pitch outburst at referee Mike Dean and his officials after they allowed a contentious Jonny Evans own goal to stand in a game United eventually won 4-3 with a last gasp Javier Hernandez winner, yet it is the behaviour of Ferguson that has been the chief talking point in the days since.

The United boss escaped any punishment from the FA because Dean did not include the incident in his match report.

After being reminded that the same referee Dean sent him to the stands at Old Trafford for kicking a water bottle back in 2009, Wenger refused to refute the suggestion that some in the game are 'scared' of veteran United boss Ferguson.

"Why should the referees be scared of Ferguson?" asked Wenger. "You have to ask them if this is true, but this is a little bit of an idea that has been spread around the country. You have the rules, you have to observe them or not. The referees have to act on that. They are professional people and they have to act on that.

"The message it sends out when we see images is not to behave like that. They (Mike Dean) have made a mistake, they are honest, but they have made a mistake. If he (Ferguson) did not behave as he should have done, he should be punished. He will be the first to admit that. The rules are the rules. It's not rules for one person and not another.

"The Premier League is watched all over the world and this sets a bad example. Should we behave like that? No. I have not always behaved in the right way and when you go overboard, you have to be punished."

Wenger's comments add to those of Newcastle boss Alan Pardew, who was irate with the referee Dean's decision not to punish Ferguson, even though he appeared to blatantly breach FA guidelines against intimidating officials by confronting Dean at the half-time break in his side's defeat.

"Mike Dean might feel slightly disappointed he didn't do something about it because the pressure on the officials is tough to take for a referee," stated Pardew. "Sometimes when you reflect on a game and look back on it, maybe you might have acted differently

"We do that as managers and I'm sure he might think that as a referee.

"Of course, it's an emotional game. Apparently they had a cordial discussion. I've had a few of them myself, but sometimes ended up in the stands with that cordial discussion."

The FA's Respect campaign, designed to improve the standing of match officials in the game, states that players and managers should "never engage in bullying, intimidation or harassment" of match officials, but that guideline appears to have been overlooked in this incident.

For Newcastle to go at OT and got that 4-3 result, it is kinda impressive considering they didn't have Cabaye and Tiote in that game. But then we also kinda at fault for those defensive performances, lol.

I think he said that in a fit of anger - and boy, was he pissed.

Or maybe it is a psychological tactic.... remember United had already faced Newcastle twice in PL this season. By branding them a "wee club" (seriously?), this would "motivate" the players and Pardew to beat Fergie's rivals to the Premiership crown just to prove him wrong.

QUOTE
Sir Alex: Enjoy the ride

Sir Alex Ferguson has urged United's fans to enjoy the thrill of high-scoring games as he remains at a loss to explain why the Barclays Premier League leaders are continuing to leak goals.

The boss has been demanding clean sheets from his side, after only four in 27 matches in all competitions this term, and was particularly angry after a topsy-turvy 4-3 win at Reading. Following a pulsating victory against Newcastle by the same scoreline on Boxing Day, the entertainment is showing no signs of abating.

Although many would appreciate things tightening up in defence, not least for the blood pressure, there is no disputing the excitement that is being produced by the Reds this term with West Brom next on the agenda.

When asked on Friday about how United stop conceding so often, Sir Alex told reporters: "I can’t answer that. I can’t possibly answer it. Obviously, I don’t think we’d be doing our job properly if we weren’t assessing where we’re losing goals. We’ve been analysing every possible detail to try and get a constant thread that tells me we need to do this but that just doesn’t appear.

"Either we don’t attack, which is not United’s way, or we have to let our supporters live through the agony of 4-3s. We’ve not had a 5-4 yet or a 6-5. I think that would be even more exciting! I said after Reading it had to stop. And I’m saying it again – it has to stop. But it won’t stop. With this present team, it’s just one of those seasons where we seem to be letting in silly goals."

For me, high-scoring games and comebacks are okay if we put professional performance throughout the game, not less-than-decent performance in half of the game and great performance in the the other half. well, being at the top of the league surely do more than enough to compensate that though, just really cautious if it's brought also into UCL competition.

So, how many hundreds of days before Mike Dean will gonna be refereeing United's match again.. tongue.gif

Have faith in Welbeck please. Hard working lad. still in process

I think Chicharito will start against Wigan depending on how fit Kagawa for the next game

Kagawa-Carrick-Cleverley seems not working at the moment. Too often have to resort to long and high balls.

for the first time in ages United is so aggressively pressing for the ball, and those intricate passing...I'm impressed with the performance, and the final 15 mins was clear that they're saving energy for second half, hopefully the lads will keep it up

Apparently Google and YouTube says Tchuna refers to a song from Power Boyz. The comments in YouTube are already being flooded by football trolls.

No, the linesman was Richard Nieuwenhuizen.

The raped Indian girl's real name was not released, her symbolic name was either Nirbhaya or Damini.

Others say Tchuna is RVP's grandfather which I find hard to believe.

Although it was not United's best performance yet this season, I thought it was an excellent defensive performance compared to most other games prior last night.

Vidic was immense really, especially during set pieces in which one of it could easily be scored by WBA if not for Vidic intervention. Evans was being Evans too this

season, looked like a seasoned defender already. Carrick was very good as well. He is playing out of his skin and always calmed the play down when things got

hectic with timed interceptions and tackles. Cleverley and Kagawa faded in the 2nd half but thats because Cleverley was running almost the whole game and

Kagawa naturally as he just got back from months away from playing. Smalling is not made for playing at RB but I guess it is for his development. Easily got

passed until Valencia shifted into RB in the final minutes. Take nothing away from WBA because they are a solid team apart from the big 3/4 and Swansea. Even

Norwich is improving nowadays (United's defeat was the evidence). My MoTM nominees are Vidic, Evans and Carrick but for sheer presence in the defense, the

winner is Vida for me.

30/12/2012 09:00, Report by Adam Marshall

Nani staying put
Sir Alex Ferguson has quashed speculation suggesting Nani will be sold during the January transfer window.

The winger is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury which led some reports to conclude that he had already played his last game for the club after failing to agree terms in the summer on a new contract.

However, the manager has stressed talk of the former Sporting Lisbon star leaving is wide of the mark as he looks forward to welcoming the talented wide man back into the fold in 2013.

"He’s injured," stated Sir Alex. "His contract’s not up for a year and a half.

"We need a Nani. He offers something different from the other players. He’s an incredible talent, the boy's a great talent. Unfortunately, he’s injured at the moment so we sent him over to Dubai for a break and hoping a bit of warmth will help him in his recovery.

"He’s not far away but he’s far enough away. I don’t think I’ll get him back until probably the middle of January. It’s a hamstring injury he’s got. A player like Nani has never had a hamstring injury ever – I don’t think he’s ever had many injuries with us. But he’s got it right in the top and it’s a bad one."

When asked if Nani has a future at Old Trafford, the boss replied: "Yes. Absolutely. Why would I want to let him go?

"Obviously his people have been negotiating with [chief executive] David [Gill] about a new contract but I don’t know what stage we are at with that. But we won’t be letting him go."

Sir Alex was also quick to refute reports that a deal has already been agreed to bring Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski to the club at the end of the season.

"It's nonsense," he asserted. "Absolute nonsense."

i think it also depends on what is the message being shown. if it's purely to troll people he'll get carded.hell he could even punishment from the FA afterwards

but most of them are harmless;from taarabt's(or is it nasri?) "selamat hari raya" messege to defoe's 100 PL goals. i don't think this is card-worthy.

i don't think the 80 mil hasn't being used already but i'm sure some of it is still there.that + salary trimming here and there +other name being sold (young in mind) + other budget= possibility to sign our old boy

Nani? Sell him. Rather inconsistent and worst of all, he has been given chance after chance and yet he fails to live up to expectations.

Meh, sell him if necessary to bring fresh new players like Walcott or possibility CR7 back in the fold.

For one thing, when's the last time you saw Valencia throw a tantrum?

Squad harmony and player's personality is still an important factor. I doubt someone like Anelka or Taraabt would fit well in United's dressing room.

Well, tantrum might be exaggerating it. I mean the little gestures, the exasperating behavior he displays on the field. Sometimes selfish, sometimes not putting his hands up admitting his mistakes, the niggling body language, wanting the adulation but not understanding the responsibilities. Like Ronaldo before his breakout year where his flashes of genius were often overshadowed displays of negativity; before he wised up and became the player he is today. Of course this is just my opinion. I simply see Valencia as a someone in the mold of Park or Scholes that would prefer to get the job done.

I guess I'm saying Valencia can do what Nani could do if he puts his mind to it; but I doubt Nani could behave as Valencia does.

he only showed that on his bad days though, and most players would do that when they're frustrated, Rooney did that, Ronnie did that, Rio did that

and saying Valencia could do what Nani could is exaggerating imo simply because Nani has more tools in his arsenal of attack than Valencia, and now we finally see what's the bottom level of Valencia's performance, and frankly, I can't see him better than what Nani is during his off day

both of them have been showing signs of inconsistencies throughout their career.

Nani was promising, until he became unbelievably irritating with his style of play.

Valencia is now (or was I guess) the same.

both of them are going through the same situations. first they shine, then they unshine themselves.

really? u rather sell Nani and KEEP Valencia?

I never mentioned anything about Valencia. Well, Valencia does knows how to do only one thing, that is to run, run and run...Zzz..and has not much repertoire of moves but at least he does deliver good crosses into the box. And help out the attack much more effectively than Nani does.

Nani, on the other hand, has been rather selfish with the ball nowadays and often wants to perform flashy moves but unable to execute it and has lead goal being conceded...like the other day when Nani lost the ball to Chelsea in the Cup and cost us our chance to progress any further. If he had hold the ball more professionally, we would have progress instead of Chelsea...but alas Nani has to screw us up. And the way he behaves don't sit well with the manager and certainly not me as well, that's for sure....His tantrum as Ray123 has pointed out is pretty annoying. Sure, throw a tantrum as much but if you can cough out the performances as well, I have no problem with that. But no, he has to demand more pay when he hasn't been performing...he has really thick face and I certainly wouldn't want a player who hasn't been performing demanding more pay and unsettling the dressing room.

So, he's free to leave if you can't accept the current pay that currently suits your current performance.

So, yes, I would rather sell Nani off than sell Valencia.
If we have candidate for Valencia replacement, sure, but for now, Valencia is a better keep than Nani atm.
Doesn't seem like a troublemaker and sure he may not be as technically gifted as Nani but he has least been more consistent and better personality than Nani nevertheless.

"like the other day when Nani lost the ball to Chelsea in the Cup and cost us our chance to progress any further"

u based the whole criticism on that 1 error, for me this is just like people flogging on "oh DDG is damn weak on crosses, he can't catches a damn ball from the air"

btw how many good crosses had Valencia put in this season? how many good runs did he made this season? dun forget he played loads of game this season already, and the one thing you mentioned he knew how to do, he seems to even forgotten how to do it, the good old Nani is inconsistent compare to Val debate now can't really apply now since its already almost half season he's being on shyt form

what i don't understand is people seems to be more tolerable towards Valencia than Nani, gives criticism when its due, and praise, when its due as well at least

I appreciated what Nani have done in the past season but I believe his time is up.
And so is Valencia time. Soon.

Also, there is a good reason why SAF rather pick Valencia ahead of Nani...first probably, he hasn't been showing good signs in training, behavioural problems and etc. Of course, people are going to be more tolerable to a player than has a better behavior on the pitch than the one who isn't.

But for now, Nani seems much more closer to the exit now. And you don't mess with Alex Ferguson regarding your wages and moreover be demanding when you haven't been playing well or not. The club is bigger than a player. Unless he is exceptional which unfortunately he is not. Of course, we would rather not lose him since he is like the same mould as CR7 and has the potential to be one, but unless he swallows his ego and start impressive SAF in training and when he get his chances in matches and not screwing up...he will be a real gem but for now, what he has been doing lately is only pushing himself further to the exit.

QUOTE(ray123 @ Dec 31 2012, 12:59 AM)

As SAF said in recent interview/press conference, United need a Nani. Not sure if he meant Nani as in Nani, or a player in a calibre of Nani. Nani on his days are

one of the better forwards/wingers out there whom not only can dribble past players but could cross in dangerous balls. Tricky and very mobile. Not a slouch

either. I don't think there are many players similar to Nani. i would want SAF to give Nani a chance, for half a season to prove himself. As you can see, Valencia,

as much as he always gives 100% energy and perseverance every (most) match, he is different from Nani. Plus, I don't think it is wise to sell Nani now which

would leave United with less options. Unless, suddenly from United's youth or reserve teams, an unearthed gem would set OT alight. Then maybe, selling Nani

with similar price during summer's transfer window would be good business. tongue.gif

hope we retain nani service and play him, for the start. young and valencia are not any better these days anyway.

saf definitely rotate his players for wigan. i hope no giggs and scholes on starting line up. i prefer to see them at the latter stage of the match. play our best xi and give someone like ferdinand, evans, carrick, evra and cleverley a rest in fa cup. league always the priority.

dw stadium used to be our happy hunting ground, but defeat last season really harm our title chance. time to make it right this time.

chelsea seem rejuvenate under rafa. but what chelsea and city wont matter if we keep winning our game.

happy birthday to saf.. more great years to come..

There's actually no real need to sell him, this is all conjecture after wild rumors of interests from Italy (Juventus) and swap deals with Arsenal (Walcott) or Liverpool (Sterling).

More often than not, many United fans are tired of waiting for him to grow up. He has been with United since 2007 and everybody expected him to pick up where Ronaldo left in 2009 but for every flash of brilliance he has followed up with streaks of impotent selfishness that simply exasperated anyone who watches him.

the winger are going through a rough patch (literally, on the field lulz)

but it seems that Valencia is slowly rediscovering himself.

everyone blasts Nani (myself included) because he's not been given much on-screen time. always becoming a extra, or a backup dancer.

once Nani is up and running, I hope that SAF will start Nani on the left, Valencia on the right, and see how this winger chemistry will work again.

as of now, from what I understand, we don't have a left-legged midfielder (apart from atuk giggs)

and I remember having this discussion about having a left-legged winger again, so I'm not gonna bring it up once more because I know I'm going to lose in that discussion because it's just ridonkulous to talk about kaki kiri kaki kanan.

and remember kids,

Valencia has only one leg.

Oh, for sure I would rather Nani stay in United. I only came into the discussion when it was about "sell Nani or Valencia?". Of the two, I would sell Nani first but the best would be to keep the both of them.

scholes will eventually retire(again),and so does giggs. which means that there are space in midfield to accommodate sneidjer. looking at our midfield, our more "senior" midfield (ando, clev) are more of a runner than a passer, especially that long range hollywood pass ,while kagawa plays what he does best, as a forward playmaker. roo stays as a striker

well even if we do go for Sneijder it would be after this season i think, then again if we're looking for midfield replacement we should find players who're similar/or can play Carrick's role, coz we're really dependent on him right now, he will need some rest also

sometimes whenever i watched swansea played, i will pinpoint one of their player;ki sung yueng. dude's slow, cannot cope physically with other player his size, yet his passes are all neat and simple. rarely i saw him mispassed the ball, even in tight situation. and what i like about him is that he doesn't hold the ball longer than neccessary

He's actually a very good midfielder for both Celtic and South Korea, but apparently his stay in Celtic made him a shorter-range passer due to their playstyle and it has carried through to Swansea.

This is so funny..taken from the sun paper today..

"if Ryan Giggs's wife divorced him and took half of everything, how would you feel about her having six more Premier League medals than you?" - tweet to Steven Gerrard on a Q&A to mark his 600th Liverpool game.

Not a bad idea. A short term replacement for scholes, but also only if chelsea is really going to let him go despite him still scoring goals for the blues. He's a top class english midfielder, if scholes / giggs can play up to 38 years ago, i'm sure he can do the same as well... brows.gif

What is per per view? blink.gif

You mean 'pay as you play', I think? unsure.gif Not sure where would Lampard fit in our system, but if United could get him cheap, why not? A short term solution

wouldn't hurt much. RvP is here already, so nothing much would surprise me too much these days. tongue.gif

I know what it means, but I don't think I have heard about that phrase per per view. Although, I can guess what he meant. Lampard should be decent signing, if he

comes cheap that is.

I think ferguson might pair welbeck/hernandez with RVP up front leading the strike force.

my line up prediction.

DDG
Smalling-Rio-Vidic-Evra
Valencia-Carrick-Scholes-Young
Welbeck/Chicarito - RVP

what say you?

good call but I think either rio or vidic will be replaced by Evans

Maybe its time for Chica to start since welbeck started against West Brom.

It also possible Sir Alex changes DDG with Lindegaard against Wigan

Wigan away will be tricky, definitely have to field the best team out there. Fa cup then can rest them(in few days time). Carrick seems to be exhausted according to reports, i'm not sure if he will start tho.

-----------De Gea--------------

Rafael---Vidic----Evans-----Evra-

Valencia--Carrick/Fletcher--Scholes/Cleverley--Young---

--------Chicharito-----RVP------------------

P/S: very surprised how they report de gea is closing on to sign for real madrid. Its not that casillas will leave real or de gea will get a first team spot if he joins madrid rclxub.gif.CR7 back to us? But his wage demand will be damn high, and reported that PSG willing to pay 500K pounds per week for his weekly wages.

lol Giggs starting.

this is not going to be good for the fans i'm sure.

i can foresee it now,

"omg why did SAF start Giggs, he's old. he doesn't deserve to start at all. cannot run." and somewhere along the lines.

Like what SAF said, benefits of a strong strike force. Able to work in different pairs. Makes Rooney's absence a mere blip.

Hernandez with a sweet volley! United really getting quite a bit of the luck without getting out of third gear.

Don't forget that Wigan also had their subs at the same time, I think Martinez would be ruing the fact that he didn't sub out Caldwell earlier despite not covering himself in glory throughout the match.

chicha's two goals were really goal poacher first time reaction shots, gotta be lucky when they come and fast enough reactions to put them in.
rvp again oozing class.
we're lucky to have someone to depend on since rooney has had two injury spells so far.

nothing lucky about it when he had been doing it for his whole career

btw, we definitely need a GIF of the Evans run back to defend a Wigan breakaway during the first half, loved his speed, determination, and fantastic positioning during that play

if the build up start with rvp n others start to follow...i bet its gonna get this sort of movement...we shud start play more like this no matter who start get the nod...

why rvp gel so easy with the rest of the squad?
for me...he is an inteligent player that play for other/team...he just be briliant when he need to...he play simple all the time that bring the tam play together...when he need to shoot...he make it count...as for a man who had carried a gunner on his shoulder...his attitude is down to earth...earliest sight to see is when he start to partner rooney...both compliment each other that give headache to saf...danny been flashy, chica on fire...all had to warm the bench cos rvp n roon is so briliant n can sync instantly...if all the striker or the team can play n link like this 2 briliant player...can u imagine how beautiful to watch it...so i demand all the other lads to follow this kind of player lead...remember he is the captain of arsenal summore...but when he arrive...he is being so humble...just get to work...no demanding at all...even jersey number...he just pick whats left without asking this n that...he is very clear that he want to be here when the saga begin...signing of the season for me...if come MAY...n we crown champion19...i wud say it is robin's season...

Although exasperating when seeing it happen, I think the idea of United's defense being shaky this season have helped other teams to come out and attack instead of going inside a shell.

damn ugly nitro charge lol i think RvP Predator is much better looking and comfort, because lots of reviewer said the old adipower predator is much more comfortable

great and professional performances from the lads in last 2 games. Now they've started second half of the season with 2 clean sheets out of 2 games, in which equals number of clean sheets for the entire of first half of the season.

RVP really makes the difference for United this season, with the consistent and reliable foundation from Evans and Carrick.

depends. but united really know how to protect it's own player. sure there are players who been on the field week in week out(roo, evra, rafael),but the manager will take them out as soon as the player show even a hint of injury.the reason why kagawa is used sparingly

and should we get torres a couple of years ago,i think the first place SAF will put him is in that nike training facility, the same place he put roo for R&R

ps:rvp=rvn? do people even remember how rvn played(and how his goals looks like)? laugh.gif

hahaha...

but i guess for me, chica is more similar to rvn in respect of movement in the box and instinctive finishing. and i think rvn's goals are 100% in the box while chica is also very very near to that number (only remembered one of his goals vs chelsea that he scored right outside the box).

it might mean "SAF would like to sell Nani this month, saying he's a terrific player and interested buyer's offer for him should be higher than what was already offered if they wanna have him" laugh.gif

I hope the cause of his absence is really injury and he's still big part in SAF's plan.

Absolutely pleased with the last 2 games (Wigan and WBA) , clean sheet in both games.

Personally I like orthodox victories , 2-0/3-0/4-0 where I can sit back enjoy MU's passing game and the players look easy on the ball.

The occasional ( frequent for this season) late goal drama is exicitng but honestly not entirely good for health.

Anyone favour late goal dramas over comfortable win? SAF said that made MU more popular this season

yes, the team can do the entertaining play style, but during this uber busy christmas and new year period, preserving enough energy to finish game and yet still manage to win it is more important, hence the slower, more patient approach, while being tight at the back

DEAL! Wigan Athletic get things going today by announcing the loan signing of Angelo Henriquez from Manchester United for the rest of the season.

Hmm... a "return favour" for letting us win yesterday? tongue.gif

=========================================================================================================

Meanwhile.... we can get this guy for FREE apparently.... but if we can afford his massive wages....

CHELSEA and Arsenal have both snubbed the chance to sign Wesley Sneijder.

And Inter Milan even made it clear they are willing to let him go on a FREE.

Sneijder, who cost the Italians a massive £24million when he signed from Real Madrid in 2009, want the midfielder, 28, off their wage bill.

Agents acting on Inter’s behalf have been contacting top Premier League clubs but none have shown any real interest in the Dutch star .

The big problem is Sneijder’s huge £200,000-a-week salary.

TO PAY OR NOT TO PAY.... THAT IS THE QUESTION

wtf? Sneijder for FREE? 800,000k per month, means 9.6m per year, and if we were prepared to pay him 20-30m for the transfer fee like the rumors before, we can just use those funds to pay him what lol

QUOTE
“This is a special team,” he told MUTV. “Everybody wants to help each other. Everybody's keen for everyone to score. Defenders are working their socks off for the midfielders, the midfielders are working for the strikers... everybody wants to run and everybody has one target in their mind.

“We have to look at it game by game but everybody wants to be champions. I feel that I'm surrounded by champions. They know how to win and that makes it really easy for me.”

“[Javier and I] scored two goals each and he gave a really good pass for my first goal. It was a good goal because every single touch was the right touch, in my opinion.

“The first one was a little behind me and I had to drag it onto my left foot. That was agood touch. Then I waited for the guy to slide in, had a good touch inside and then a quick finish. Three touches but all good touches.”

“It was a very good performance we scored the goals at the right time. We've played Wigan twice this year and won 4-0 both times, so that's good for goal difference.

“Everybody's helping each other and everybody wants to share the goals. Look at the last goal – Danny wanted to give the ball to me so I could score. Everybody's like that. I'm like that, Chicha is like that... everybody wants to share the goals and that, in my opinion, is the way to score heaps of goals.

“Hopefully we can keep it going. We’ve had a couple of games where we've had high scores but we want to score even more goals because that could be vital come the end of the season.”

Here is a website to download BBC Match of the Day, which includes highlights and brief analysis for every BPL game, if you guys didn't already know.

Question is, does anyone know where to get Sky Sports Monday Night Football? which is now presented by Gary Neville, and which is better by a mile than BBC MOTD.

Jealous? Nahh rooney is most team player I've ever seen in striker. He will let others shine while he is secretly perform just like when ronaldo took the spotlight.

Hardworking lad.expect more of him when returns from injury.perhaps, next weekend? (along with nani)

With hernandez, welbeck and if the loan goes well, henriquez in front of king, chances of him getting 1st team actions in 3-4 years are pretty much none. The Blackburn move is the best option for him.

Yea, well at least that's what I feel, not that I am bias but Gary Neville is really good at analyzing the game, which can be entertaining/interesting to watch. Whereas MOTD which has Alan Hansen talking all the time is really boring/uninteresting, he is just stating the obvious in the game on the show.

Do you know where to get MNF online though? I have been watching MOTD for a few months now, I can't really stand it anymore and I decided to look for MNF instead.

Chelsea offered Newcastle £7m plus Fernando Torres for Demba Ba. Apparently, Newcastle declined - they just wanted £7m. tongue.gif tongue.gif

Jonny Evans created 2 chances (despite being a CB), 4/4 successful tackles, 1 interception, 1 block, and 5/6 successful clearances
*
Good play by Evans and the other Defenders.
Rafael is back at RB position. Vidic is playing his second (or is it third??) full 90 minutes game.
Then there is Jones and Buttner in-waiting for their chances.

Midfield position also have ample skillful players like Carrick, Cleverly, Giggs, Kagawa, Young, Scholes and Valencia.
Not forgetting Rooney and RVP who can play as attacking Midfielder or Striker.

Really good to have rafael back. And kagawa as well. We were so deprived in centre-back postion, but now we have vidic, smalling, evans and rio available.
*
Yes, most of the players are back from injuries and I think SAF will have a hard time rotating the team for Champions League and the BPL.

if the build up start with rvp n others start to follow...i bet its gonna get this sort of movement...we shud start play more like this no matter who start get the nod...

why rvp gel so easy with the rest of the squad?
for  me...he is an inteligent player that play for other/team...he just be briliant when he need to...he play simple all the time that bring the tam play together...when he need to shoot...he make it count...as for a man who had carried a gunner on his shoulder...his attitude is down to earth...earliest sight to see is when he start to partner rooney...both compliment each other that give headache to saf...danny been flashy, chica on fire...all had to warm the bench cos rvp n roon is so briliant n can sync instantly...if all the striker or the team can play n link like this 2 briliant player...can u imagine how beautiful to watch it...so i demand all the other lads to follow this kind of player lead...remember he is the captain of arsenal summore...but when he arrive...he is being so humble...just get to work...no demanding at all...even jersey number...he just pick whats left without asking this n that...he is very clear that he want to be here when the saga begin...signing of the season for me...if come MAY...n we crown champion19...i wud say it is robin's season...
*
Yes, RVP is like Cantona. Both are team player, not flashy and like to bolot the ball for oneself. That is why, with Rooney and RVP, opposing defenders will have a hard time figuring out their next move. Chicarito is also a team player with lethal and clinical finishing.

RVP to ManUtd is a good investment in a player.

*
Will prefer some drama + comfortable win to make life interesting.
Too much late goal drama not good for health, too much comfortable win sounds boring to watch.

IMO, I prefer Sneijder to Lampard.
Then SAF can rotate the midfield - Carrick/Cleverly, Kagawa/Sneijder.

on negative side, rvp also like cantona.. got some temper. our first team members most likely get into fights, imo rvp.

Yes, QPR is slowly improving under Rednapp.

My line up for the match against West Ham in the FA Cup :

-------------Lindegaard-------------

--Rafael--Smalling---Vidic---Buttner

-Valencia--Fletcher--Kagawa--Young

---------Welbeck---Macheda--

cantona temper really in different level.. before he join us he already create lots of problem.. i would say SAF know how to handle him

rvp more like a calm guy but will get pissed if something really trigger him..

It is too early to talk about liverpool

Let us do our best against west ham and returns without injury.buttner, welbeck, smalling, jones are the names should start.

Roo will comeback next week It should be good for United
