I have a quick question on the K&N air filter ...

Last week my workshop while servicing my car he took out the K&N filter and tried to clean it with the compressed air ... attempting to clean it i assume ...

Then i saw the oil being blow out ... i didnt realy checked it and didnt strike me at that time that the oil is suppose to be there for a reason ...

I am gonna check later if he blown any hole into it or not but now i am concerned if the lack of oil can affect the filter ...

Should get the recharge kit and top up the oil back or should i clean and re-oil it entirely ..
*
It is wrong way to blow k&n filter with air gun, it would be bad to the product according to k&n recommendation is only good to let it dry for itself.

Hello and welcome mate, seems like a lot of Honda City forum is slowly dying.. Hope we can keep this thread active since there's a whole new batch of new City owner joining  rclxms.gif
I think the mechanic didn't see the STOP sign sticker and think this is regular filter and simply blow it with air gun sweat.gif

Yeah you are right mate, HC3 forum was started in Lowyat.net last time, now it is like ghost town there. Hope some members from here don't mind to dive in there 'look see' those information that we shared last time since 2009... it is a bit outdated compared to today fantastic E+ spec model.

I temporary take out my k&n as it seems quite dirty & put back stock filter. Don't know where I have put the recharge kit & still pending to clean it in DIY style

*
300Km for how many liter or fuel? 31L or 41L? I believe full tank here does not mean 42L. sweat.gif

if you planning to do 100k service @ honda SC, pls share the cost and details ya..  rclxms.gif
*
hi bro yeah lo no $$ to change VW haha..invested many gadgets in my ride hard to let go, the car also does not give me any problem (but FC is a bit high now compared to new) so just hang on it. Yeah I also wondering what are the parts they gonna change in 100K service, gonna prepare RM1K for it. @.@ Even now is already off warranty, still go back to Honda SC, if you were me, you go service outside or SC?

any1 ? or just let me know what kind of bulbs our car use for the headlights, and also the engine oil spec.
HC3 already dead ? heard the founder and owner already sold his car and moved oversea, that's why the club went inactive.

anyway i used to follow the postings in the forum last time, but that time the car is not owned by me, so i cant make any of those mods you guys did to your cars. but now my mom passed the car to me, but the forum went dead, so I went to HCOC instead, another city club. but that club focused on all honda city models and range, not as good as what HC3 did last time
try installing voltage stabilizer + grounding cable, will solve the gear sluggish problem. i recommend the one from erictioh, just search his name and you will find his vs and gc thread. RM170 for vs and RM110 for gc.
*
Yeah president move on to oversea & ever since the club became very quiet and I also didn't pay visit as frequent as last time..some time visit but server problem...discouraging next visit...however recently the forum is back to working condition. Missed the good old day when members exchanging their idea or issues of the NHC.

*
Yeah we were the 2009 NHC 1st batch owners who went thru product update of replacement of the lost motion springs and retainers within the engine. Your car is it still under warranty?

Yeah Silverarrow... Long time no see in forum and also sorry for the last minute contact when I was in Penang 2 months back.. rush trip...

Hehe... Actually I did my spark plugs change at 100k about RM500 plus labour.

Then I did my oil changed and gear oil flush at 101k about RM200 plus labour..

So if not wrong about RM700... hehe... I do outside now... At my own convienient timing.. next service is 114k... hehe should be changing the absorbers... which will cost around RM450 front and back..
*
No issue bro, see you next round. Bring your minions together I want to meet them haha. Anyway, you definitely found a good & quality non Honda workshop. Absorbers should change at 100K normally? Get the sport type?

there's another feature by the module which wasn't mentioned by him. the module will lock the doors when u engage to D for the first time, and unlock itself when u engage to P. when u unlock the doors manually while ur gear is in D, the doors will auto lock itself when the car starts moving again. the most important feature is in the case of emergency or very hard braking, the doors will auto unlock themselves, this is the most useful feature IMO, only found it out the other day when i did a very hard brake.
*
This lock module looks cool, how to install it without cutting wires? (haha I don't care cut or not as my car already off warranty)

now jz done 300km on d road...
d fc is quite bad i would say...
nv over 3.5k rpm...
Usually stay under 3k rpm...
fc is like not less den Rm0.20/km...
i heard that before run-in...
fc will be quite bad,and will turn better eventually...
is that true?
*
Can expected a little bit better after run in, but don't expect big different as naturally City is quite heavy & comes with 16" rim. To archive good FC important factor is you don't have a lead right leg. smile.gif

i plan to change to light weight 15" very soon, and pass dis 16" to my mom's vios...
as i still can enjoy gd tyre @ gd price for 15"...
to 195/55/15,will dis make my fc better abit?
*
Not advisable as your speedometer & mileage was tuned to fit 16" tyre, I guess it will get affected if changed to smaller size. You can consider to get light weight alloy rim for 16". Get carbon fiber type is even better tongue.gif

those old members who had installed UR bars... wanna ask which bar is the most important and should go in 1st ? i only know i have to install , FSB, rear ARB, and front ARB. but currently no budget for all together, so plan to install 1 by 1
*
Start with FSB as it is the cheapest to start with, then rear ARB. I only have this 2 bars installed smile.gif

WTA what's the size for our small light (not headlight) ? is it T10 ?

and can any1 help me take a picture from the manual book on how to replace the bulb ?  icon_question.gif
*
Just take it out by a twist in anti clock(if not mistaken) and pull out the socket/adaptor that hold the bulb.
FYR.

should be T10.

how about the rear lights, reverse and signal lights ?

just replaced my front small light with LED bulbs, confirm it's T10.
and my boot light also kong edi.... how to replace that ?

i plan to change all my rear lights into LED bulbs as well. but i heard for signal light need to install another special circuit controller in order to control the LED to not blink too fast when u activate the signal ?

u seem to have many experience DIY LEDs into the car, glad u're still around tongue.gif
*
hihi yeah bro...anything we still can do sharing here. I do have a mission last time to change all bulb to LED type. For signal light, I don't encourage to change to LED type because the light was too dim and tik-tak-tik-tak too fast. Same to the 3rd break light, stock bulb is still better as it is bright enough to serve for signal/warning light. I do owned LED type for break/signal lights but decided drop it for safety purpose. Anyway it make sense to change all the internal bulb to LED type, who knows if we accidentally turned on the filament bulb & potentially kill car battery?

for the turn signal tik-tak-tik-tak too fast problem when changed to LED, i did a search on garage sales ytd and found this

https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2596836&hl=LED
but not sure where to install it

the 3rd break lights is referring to the one on the top or the one besides the main rear light? for the one beside the main rear light the size is T20 right ? do you change that ? for cabin light what is the size?
*
The first link actually gave you the hint which size/type to use for each bulb. The 3rd break light is the one on top & it should be same with item (5), the break light bulb beside the main rear is T10 if my memory served me well. The best way to verify or to check is to take out the original bulb to verify.
