Honestly, if you think that is laggy, then you will hate papago on android... super lag! Nokia's Drive is considered godly in comparison.

QUOTE(godhpf @ Mar 26 2013, 03:06 PM) lol. Nokia Malaysia is really terrible. Still no actual date of the OTA update. No real reason either. Actually 2 days for selected Nokia Stores in the list; but 1 whole month for all Nokia Care Centers. The facebook admin said that it's an update as opposed to a flash. Don't know if that is true or not. And the "update service" is available for only two days lol. |

QUOTE(godhpf @ Mar 26 2013, 03:38 PM) Notice the location and date. KL/Selangor users can only go on 30-31st March. Penang/Melaka on 6th-7th. For most users, it's two days. Unless of course you are willing to travel just for the update. There is a difference between Nokia Store and Nokia Care. The list you see are all Nokia Stores or shops. Those only 2 days.... but Nokia Care Centers, there are many and they are not listed. If what they say is true, these Nokia Care centers are available for updates for one whole month. QUOTE(godhpf @ Mar 26 2013, 03:57 PM) My bad. After I re read I got what you were trying to say. Well, at least Nokia Malaysia is offering an alternative to make up for the failed OTA update. For that, I salute the effort. Not sure if the OTA failure is partly due to our telcos - they are not saying much. Hopefully this update includes the latest ones already made available to users in other countries. Still, this sucks. I wouldn't want to go to Nokia Care if I can after my dreadful experience. I'll go to the store on those two days or maybe I'll just wait for the OTA. If I feel adventurous enough, I'll update it myself. But man, this feels like android all over again. LOL But still, I am scratching my head why Malaysia is so special that we cannot have OTA updates.. This post has been edited by weim76: Mar 26 2013, 04:10 PM |

QUOTE(LightningZERO @ Apr 7 2013, 09:56 AM) It seems to have been delayed, again That announcement was at end of March when they realized they couldn't roll-out OTA by end of March. However, on 2nd April, they issued a new announcement to roll out OTA for Lumia 920. For L820, supposed to start from 4th onwards. Only a few 920 users reported getting the update, and some of them stated they are using Celcom. I have not read of any other carriers delivering the OTA updates yet. Also, no reports of any L820 or L620 users getting the updates yet.We sincerely regret that the OTA update has encountered some unforeseen difficulties and has been forced to delay. As such, we are now offering complimentary software updates for the Nokia Lumia 920 at all Nokia Care Centres from 30 March – 30 April, 2013. For details of the nearest Center in your area, please visit the link below: http://www.nokia.com/my-en/support/care-point-finder. Cheers, The Nokia Malaysia FB Team |

QUOTE(LightningZERO @ Apr 7 2013, 01:48 PM) Nope...that wasn't an official announcement but Nokia Malaysia did post it on one of the comments. It was after they had announced that they had completed the OTA. You can still find it in one of the comments in Nokia Malaysia fb (posted by a user called Grax Gunz)...so yes, it has been delayed, again Yeah, now only I saw it. The fact they posted it as a comment to another user's query instead of an official announcement could mean they are still trying to solve the 'difficulties'. Until when we don't know.... And the words are almost "copy and paste" from the original 'complimentary service' announcement. I do hope the 'difficulties' would be resolved sooner rather than later, as I don't fancy doing manual flash and going through with re-downloading all my apps and adjusting each of the settings; rearranging my tiles layout and losing some of my data/games achievements. |

Guys, any of you change your battery at Nokia Care before? I suspect my wife's 2-week old L820 battery is defective as it drains about 30-40% when put in flight mode overnight. In standby mode (3G) and wifi without doing anything, it can drain about 10-15% every hour. The settings are exactly like my own L820 (except my wife has even less apps, and even more stringent data/battery/location controls). Conversely, my battery is excellent - maximum 1% drain in flight mode overnight, sometimes no drain at all.
Is the battery warranty claim hassle-free, or they need to keep the phone for some time to investigate? |

QUOTE(xSean @ May 14 2013, 09:56 AM) try swap your battery with your wife's phone battery and monitor...see whether is battery problem or phone setting problem Yeah, will try that too later. And just called up Nokia Care, they are willing to exchange the battery. Don't need to leave the phone there. The technician said if the problem persists, it could point to a motherboard defect. |

QUOTE(masfiq @ May 17 2013, 09:27 AM) my l520 cant dettect micro sd ( sandisk 4gb class 4 ) even after i format to fat32 and exFat l had this problem with my 820 when I hard reset without the SD card inside. Solution was to hard reset again with SD card in the phone. Not sure if that could work for u. By right, if the card is new, it should fit in right away and can be detected. |
