Actually 2 days for selected Nokia Stores in the list; but 1 whole month for all Nokia Care Centers.

There is a difference between Nokia Store and Nokia Care. The list you see are all Nokia Stores or shops. Those only 2 days.... but Nokia Care Centers, there are many and they are not listed. If what they say is true, these Nokia Care centers are available for updates for one whole month.

Well, at least Nokia Malaysia is offering an alternative to make up for the failed OTA update. For that, I salute the effort. Not sure if the OTA failure is partly due to our telcos - they are not saying much. Hopefully this update includes the latest ones already made available to users in other countries.

But still, I am scratching my head why Malaysia is so special that we cannot have OTA updates.. hmm.gif doh.gif

That announcement was at end of March when they realized they couldn't roll-out OTA by end of March. However, on 2nd April, they issued a new announcement to roll out OTA for Lumia 920. For L820, supposed to start from 4th onwards. Only a few 920 users reported getting the update, and some of them stated they are using Celcom. I have not read of any other carriers delivering the OTA updates yet. Also, no reports of any L820 or L620 users getting the updates yet.

Yeah, now only I saw it. The fact they posted it as a comment to another user's query instead of an official announcement could mean they are still trying to solve the 'difficulties'. Until when we don't know.... rclxub.gif
And the words are almost "copy and paste" from the original 'complimentary service' announcement.
I do hope the 'difficulties' would be resolved sooner rather than later, as I don't fancy doing manual flash and going through with re-downloading all my apps and adjusting each of the settings; rearranging my tiles layout and losing some of my data/games achievements.

Latest reply by Nokia about the OTA on their fb page (about 25 minutes ago) as a general comment - not official announcement...

It implies that it's Microsoft's problem... sweat.gif

But I also cannot tolerate stupid drivers who tailgate other cars for cheap thrills. You must have a very interesting car to be targetted by that guy... haha.

Guys, any of you change your battery at Nokia Care before? I suspect my wife's 2-week old L820 battery is defective as it drains about 30-40% when put in flight mode overnight. In standby mode (3G) and wifi without doing anything, it can drain about 10-15% every hour. The settings are exactly like my own L820 (except my wife has even less apps, and even more stringent data/battery/location controls). Conversely, my battery is excellent - maximum 1% drain in flight mode overnight, sometimes no drain at all.

Is the battery warranty claim hassle-free, or they need to keep the phone for some time to investigate?

Yeah, will try that too later. And just called up Nokia Care, they are willing to exchange the battery. Don't need to leave the phone there. The technician said if the problem persists, it could point to a motherboard defect.

l had this problem with my 820 when I hard reset without the SD card inside. Solution was to hard reset again with SD card in the phone. Not sure if that could work for u. By right, if the card is new, it should fit in right away and can be detected.

Already replaced new battery at Nokia Care. Battery drain is still high; but will continue to perform more charging cycles for the battery to stabilize first.
