It will a lot easier using SkyDrive to sync data than using usb or apps. It just too protected with copyright that you can hardly transfer most mp3/mp4 directly into phone and play it

Times change, I haven't got a single crash with windows 8 and so is with my windows phone. The phone reboot mostly due to apps accessing violation sector which might access our personal security.

Who say iphone never hang? Some collegues of mine said their phone got hang from time to time also, need to force reboot

I got update all the time via this method, so is my windows 8, it never flash any alert like end of the world

yeah, show at live tile, a small number on the bottom corner indicate how many update available

just like missed call, whatsapp, line, skype, messenger will show a small number indicate how many things available on the apps you haven't see

Use wifi whenever is possible, or switch to postpaid, turn off data plan when not use, from what I know, Lumia tend to use wifi over data, it use data for checking small things only, when certain update or large image/video files to upload/download, it will stop the data flow and wait you to get on wifi (unless you set to ignore it)

apps no control of dataflow, it might be some apps you installed sending data in out all the time.

p.s. check on background what is running, turn off what you don't need (it won't have instant update anyway, windows 8 limitation which might be fixed with win8.1)

According to Engadget, even you don't update, old apps also cannot download already

Mostly is apps problem to integrate with wp8 environment, also because wp8 too protective with the os

of course for call also lah I use LINE mostly, notification seems ok, some bugs there but acceptable
