Ya poly course is still new. Started on July 2006 First Batch. And currently for the first batch is going to graduate at this December and now is having thier Junior Tech Course at Mas Trainning School, for those who pass all module and did't have recourse. And further what happen, must wait and see.

QUOTE(guli_bulat @ Nov 19 2008, 02:15 PM)

MIAT,APR or POLYTECHNIC?
*
So which 1 is better is up to you. U need more information to make dicision.
More info for you,, MIAT have it own hangar and aircraft to do tranning, but poly not yet have. So trainning is direct to live aircraft at hangar line production. My first aircraft I do is B747-300 HZ-AIK Arab Saudi Airlines this september 2008. And now I sem 2.

maybe you can try in SG?
you no need to pay anything for the program, the bond is 8 years though.
Requirements:
local engineering degree (government uni), preferably aeronautical/aerospace.
or diploma in aeronautical/aerospace engineering from singapore local poly.

the intake is around june-august each year.

basic salary in the first year is from sgd1.6k~2k depends on your degree/diploma.
*
O.o, nice, than continue is LAE?? I wonder that AirAsia also got thier trainee. But how to get there and I have non information about it. Some one from AirAsia ?? Can share some information from there??? I wonder i still got 1 and half year to end my diploma in poly... Look like far.... and future still blur.......... Is better to find own trainee right?

QUOTE(maryjane9996 @ Dec 2 2008, 01:15 AM)
hi.
i got some info for u guys.
yesterday evening(since 1 oclock d),ive met Dato Azaharruddin
which is DCA Head of Director to seek for information.
He is LAE since 1976.He got 3 type rating.I ask him which place is good for TAME.
What he said is,MAS AirAsia and Transmile. Why ?
because they all working on live aircraft and they are stable and reputable company. Some more,if u take at APR,better u confirm what job u will got when u apply for work. Its not worth your
money if u work with MAS,but u just repair the seat or the toilet.lol.
And, for who wan enter AirAsia,
this year intake already finish. They only take 58ppl for this year.
The next intake will be after SPM result.
DCA also provide TAME.But,they stop at the moment.
And,Transmile and AirAsia are EASA license.
And,how to obtain type rating ? u need to sit for exam.cannot simply buy.
The conversion procedure, got your LWTR then seat for Air Law paper.
Good luck to all.
*
Nice information. Maybe this will be helping. Hehe

Let me make some corrections/clarifications here.

Dato' Hj. Azharuddin Abdul Rahman is the DIRECTOR GENERAL of the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia!
His last post was the the Director of Airworthiness Unit, DCA.

Yes, he was an LAE from MAS working with the widebody aircrafts.. my senior.

With EASA license, you can be issued with the DCA's AMEL by taking and passed the Paper 1 examination, Air Legislation.

Very true, AirAsia is using EASA-66 modules for the Engineering Program. A 4 year course.

No more intake currently. There MAY BE fresh intake next year subject to fleet growth and expansion. Priorities are given to internal staff for career development.

Agreed with Dato' Azaharuddin, either go with MAS, AA or Transmile. Other than these, your application will be scrutinised and may be rejected for not meeting the minimum standards.
*
Sa, U say he is your senior, so you is LAE in MAS?? QA???

Definitely!
Make sure you record properly details of your work and have it duly signed by the person in charge.
*
So, How it count? To go for Easa need how many years experience? 3? Did it deduct the period of the pratical in the experience required? And the report that we do must be how many at Least? Our report is endosed by the LAE and Approval in Mas. Is that what we need to keep??

Correct me if wrong. Sorry a trainee like to ask alot...

Understand the exact requirements of EASA-66 syllabus first. Have you read it?

It is okay to ask but do your ground work first lah, ie read, read, read! tongue.gif

Ok Sir.

Added on December 3, 2008, 11:33 pmSa, read already and they say for CAT B
2. for category B2 and subcategories B1.1 and B1.3:
(i) five years of practical maintenance experience on operating aircraft if the applicant has no previous relevant
technical training; or
(ii) three years of practical maintenance experience on operating aircraft and completion of training considered
relevant by the competent authority as a skilled worker, in a technical trade; or
(iii) two years of practical maintenance experience on operating aircraft and completion of a Part -147 approved
basic training course.

So, this mean that the (ii) must be a skilled worker. But we are trainee. So how do this go on???
For (iii) Mas not yet part-147 approved basic training course.

jazzy939, Work in workshop better or hangar? Because work in work shop the things you know is more than enough, but when time goes by, the things that they do are the same. For hangar, maybe is more things to learn, but they say it easy job.

AMM is one of it. READ before you start work. But most of the lae don't do this.... When come to problems than the amm show up.
In Mas what i know that when working there must be a amm or any support document with you right? if QA find you = shocking.gif doh.gif
