Frontal armour surprisingly bouncy even against TD guns.

I hate facing E-75 in my T30.

Can't do that in my Super Pershing. (Or T30. Or JT 8,8cm. Or Obj 212... oh wait, wrong tank.)

I did have fun occupying an E-75 once while my fellow AMX 13 90 circled around and pumped shots into his arse.

Or just flank the E-75. Being a fast heavy, not too hard to do either.

In that case, I usually wait for arty. Or if that's not available, start finding a route to retreat or lure him into bigger guns.

I'm a pragmatic player. I know when I'm overmatched. (And this happens very often in my T-44.)

Still popping noobs with my SPGs, so not really much of a difference. The reduced ammo count for SU-26 kinda hurts though.

KV-1 with the 57mm is basically what the Churchill I should have been with the 6pdr. (Having armour that can actually tank shots, instead of having holes everywhere. The turret is a sad, sad weakpoint.)

Somehow, many people play the T1 like it's a KV. Not surprised they get themselves smashed 3 minutes into the game.

To be fair, T1 has pretty decent frontal armour. So long you can keep your front angled at him and not expose your sides (Not easy, but still doable), you can out-dps a KV-1. It will hurt like a mother if you try to do this against an experienced driver.


BDR has joke armour. But the gun is decent. That's probably the only saving grace it has.

You're not shooting at the right place.

I can penetrate a fellow KV-1 easily with my 57mm 413 gun with only 112 penetration. Aim for the lower glacis, MG port or driver's silt. All weakspots.

I must be one of the few hipsters here who don't believe in gold ammo.

Even then, I don't use them. My T-44 got on just fine. It was a little rough, but hey, I think it taught me how to play a medium better.

Seeing that
a) Penetration drops off at long range
b) Maus has at least 200mm of armour no matter how you slice it
c) Penetration rolls are notoriously on the low side just when you need a shell to penetrate

Yeah.

It's not all that uncommon. My T30 suffers from a similar problem. (Bouncing 7 times is my record.)

The T-50-2 can mount either the auto-cannon (which I never use) or the 57mm ZiS-4, the same gun you can find on the T-34 and KV-1. Those T-50-2 zipping forward and dying is really just wasting the potential of the tank, given that you will only light up the enemies once. And that's ignoring the fact that in the mid-late game, you can break through holes in the line to hunt for arty.

To truly shine as a scout, you must know when to hang back and when to zoom zoom forward.

EDIT: If you working towards the KV-3 line as well, then go for it. Otherwise, no real need. The T-150 is just an uparmoured and upgunned version of the KV-1. Plays almost exactly the same.

IS-8 has decent mobility and a good gun.

ST-1 has... well, good armour? Rofl.

Tier 6? You're just exaggerating.

I'm pretty sure even my T-44 cannot penetrate it frontally. Same tier and (better) tier 8 guns? Yes, definitely.

I can't name a single weakspot the US tanks has though.

(Unless soft hull counts as a weakspot.)

ARL 44 has a super gun for its tier. It doesn't quite count.

The sub 170 pen guns at this tier will bounce off an IS-8 front.

EDIT: Compare my 175 pen for AP in my LB-1 (T-44) to your 212mm pen in your 90mm DCA.
