i dont think its possible to get Visa right now.
its Amex and Master now, no longer Visa/Master
*
any specific reason why u said so?

last time when i apply about 2 years back, the CS actually called me, no need to submit any doc as my car loan is there. i specifically asked for visa, instead of mastercard, even though all the brochure pictures only show mastercard.

and i got visa...

i was told by 1U CS that i can only choose Mastercard
*
maybe that time they only have mastercard card available..or the CS was noob..

anyway...as per mentioned by me previously, i do notice mastercard more contest to join, other than that, no diff between visa and master...

so u got a better deal than me in that sense smile.gif

Today tried paying TNB bills with Amex via Maybank2u. After paying 2 bills total RM600, appears "Unsuccessful - You have reached the maximum number of transactions allowed to this payee corporation. "

Anyone has similar problems? How long does it take to reset? Maximum 2 bills a month? Or a week? Or a day?
*
may i know why u try paying today instead of waiting for tomolo? for 5% rebate? fully utilized ur 5% quota?

posting/transaction date is the same when i pay, so there shouldn't be any issue....

however, i have fren reported for unifi, sometimes it got one day delay for the transaction date, anyone experienced that?

streamyx doesnt have that issue.

no. if he's afraid, ask him to do on saturday morning.

Yup. I asked him to do that as well. And it's my standard procedure as well, to pay on Saturday instead of Sunday, unless there are certain other concern.

Tried to request for temporary increase of credit limit this morning as I wanted to pay my wife's insurance with the amex but was told by the CS it's only possible if under emergency situations. Now i've to pay my bills earlier in order to swipe the full amount.
*
i increased my CL with a phone call to CS. no hassle. but u do need a few days for it to reflect.

i requested for CL increase for that particular week only (for travel) but until now it has not decrease. but i don't bother me laugh.gif

So you are saying that we should ignore those statistic?
Those statistic might be inaccurate, however, we cannot deny the fact that there are indeed many people who fall into debts because of credit card mismanagement. I'm just saying that we must always be prudent on our spending & spend wisely so that the CC benefit us but not burden us.
*
that's what this forum are for..
to educate ppl to reap the most benefits from current expenditure pattern from the existing credit cards in the market.
i bet those in the "statistic" don't even bother to venture into this part of the forum. wink.gif

Problem is to fill up a form I would have to go to the branch and then it'll take time. I only have the time to pay the bill today. Anyway doesn't really matter as great eastern doesn't accept AMEX.  Sigh, there goes the TPs.
CS told me only possible for emergency situations like hospital admissions, or stranded in a foreign land. Guess yours fall into that stranded in foreign land category.
*
erm..not really..i told them i will will be travelling and need an increase

*

Sorry to ask this question again as I recall it being asked sometime ago.

I just checked on agoda maybank's site and found out that the 6% discount is still valid for the maybank master/visa card. Planning to book a hotel in macau for 2 nights and I get to save about 40USD approx.

I remember someone saying before there are cheaper rates offered by another website if compared to agoda. Anyone mind sharing which site it is?
*
http://www.hotelscombined.com/

it's actually a site that show u all the booking fee for alot of websites...it includes agoda..

i tried last time go to agoda through this site, it's cheaper than u getting 6% from agoda itself from maybank..but that's not necessarily the case...check it out urself

2. Agoda? or M2U?
*
always choose to go agoda through the maybank rather than agoda directly. through bank, u will get 6% using master/visa (until some date).

However, do try going to agoda through hotelscombined.com as well. although u don't get the 6%, sometimes, for certain hotel, the hotel rate is lower if going through this portal to agoda.

QUOTE(CP88 @ May 7 2013, 08:49 PM)
Hi,

Just purchased MAS tickets for friends and noticed the following statement after receiving the e-ticket:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I have called & emailed them regarding this issue as my friends will be flying from KL while I was just helping them to purchased the tickets.

Below is the reply I got:
Please be informed that for online booking using third party credit card will required for verification. If you unable to provide them those documents, alternatively you may scan and email us the copy of credit card front page and copy of IC/Passport for us to verify at  our end. We will update into the booking that we have verify and passenger not required to provide those documents anymore.

Failure to verify those documents  will be denied boarding.

My questions:
Do I really need scan my CC front page with IC for verification? During the ticket checkout I have already entered all my details & billing address.

How secure if all my CC details & IC being sent over to them? By the way, I used AMEX for the transaction.

Seeking some valuable advice. Thanks notworthy.gif

i was travelling oversea for work last 2 months or so. MAS ticket was bought using company's credit card. got the same message as well. ask admin about it, they say usually they say so, but so far, when they (my company) din verify it, other colleagues also able to get on board.

however, just to be safe, i asked them to verify, and they went to one of the MAS branch to verify.

Can't make up my mind if I should redeem 10k TP or pay RM 50 for GST.
Once my card was approved, Maybank waived for me for free, due to invitation, I think a one-time off promotion.

Then last year I redeemed 10k TP for my GST.

Ever since I got my OCBC Ti, I seldom use my Maybank because my transactions occur on weekdays mostly. So, now my points only 30k TP. laugh.gif

Feel sayang. tongue.gif

QUOTE(cempedaklife @ Mar 1 2013, 10:00 AM)
actually it's almost the same..

considering u use 10000TP to redeem rm50 gst

if u use 9300TP to redeem rm50 parkson voucher, which itself accept amex, u lose 7.5% (5x TP and 5% weekends) of the rm50 = rm3.75 = 750 TP
so in total its 10,050 TP

trollol  laugh.gif

i always redeem GST  wink.gif
