hi guys...

got some question on ND filters...

Hoya HMC ND400 vs B+W ND3.0...which one is better?

i heard review about the B+W ND are bad...but the price also more exp...is it true?
*
i hav had both the ND400 hoya and B+W ND110 last time, both cost rm3xx. Not much difference only to say the ND400 hoya is 8 2/3rd stop and B+W is 10 stop, but when in use no difference coz i usually need to overexpose by +1 probably coz wrong calculate maybe sweat.gif

some people say the B+W has purplish tint color and there is a more expensive version that has better control, but not that much important for me.

QUOTE(jimlim007 @ Jan 19 2013, 12:16 PM)
tumpang, what is the good and cheaper price for variable ND 77mm? budget <350, step up ring buy separately
*
my 2 cent, better get the normal circular one for still photo and if video good use variable ones.
There got seller selling cheaper big stop ND for rm199 (not hoya / B+W lah)

Their custom fw quite good, like Magic Lantern made for videography can shoot HDR video, change this n that smile.gif

but sony mobile phone now the Xperia Z already have hDR video, so maybe lah later in the future coming to alpha biggrin.gif

Hi, recently planned to buy wireless triggers for me and my friend, from our initial budget looks like the Aputure Trigmaster looks good. When mounted on body, the trigger 'triggers' the receivers but flash HVL-F42 wont fire. Googled around didnt find much then call a friend they say have the same problem, works fine on F43/F58 he said. *anyone to clarify

Then decided to get the Strato (ver 1), works fine. Only that after being idle for awhile the flash went to 'sleep mode' then need to 'sync' (unmount the flash from trigger --> mount on to body --> click or half click shutter --> remount on to trigger) , every single time went to sleep mode. cry.gif

Anyone with this trigger tried on other flashes? hmm.gif rclxub.gif

Also when mount trigger on Dslt , ofkos the evf/lcd won't gain exposure unless pop up the popup flash or mount flash on the trigger. How about on a99/rx1/nex6/etc? No fix coming for that for a77/65?

Connect the flash to the body first, then remove it and connect to the receiver. After connecting the trigger to the body the body should already show the Flash sign (set to flash on the f42 as well). Then just shoot or if it still doesnt work then check the channels, or maybe the receiver is low on batt.
*
yup that what i meant by 'sync' (unmount the flash from trigger --> mount on to body --> click or half click shutter --> remount on to trigger) sad.gif
the tx/rx just out of box the day before, so battery still fresh biggrin.gif
got reply at alphanatics forum saying the F42 do have problem with wireless triggers, need to funs for f43/56/58 la lidat rclxub.gif

oh didnt c that during browsing thru garage sale, if not couldve just buy from u n saved alot laugh.gif

currently the only problem with hvl-f42 and strato is if i stop shooting, and the flash went to sleep mode, i need to re-sync. no wake up function like supposed to (as stated in manual) . Bro azam of alphanatics said it works fine with f56/58 and should work fine on f43 too...

can u try on ur trigger if the waking up works? hmm.gif

mastering89: u need to play with your camera more~ >.< impossible u didnt know bout "Live View Display: Setting Effect"
A33/55 is the only DSLT that doesnt has LVD:SE. and all NEX before Nex7(i think)

and the stratos, do u mean the trigger when to sleep or the flash?
i never knew my trigger can goes into sleep mode. on the flash, F42 can set the duration before it sleep. usually i set the Flash to WL mode, it will ignore WL sync anyway, since there is a 'trigger knob' wasnt triggered, but in WL mode, the Sleep timer is a lot longer, and it still fires like normal manual flash.
usually if my flash does goes to sleep, i simply press my WL trigger transmitter, and the signal to the receiver will wake up the flash. (strato)

didnt like aputure from day1 it came out.
8tvt: its QLV< quick live view was the phrase.
*
Hahaaa my camera history usage skips few cameras especially the latest ones sweat.gif
i think i did ask albnok last time during outing bout the Setting Effect, forgot maybe hahaa
i did play trigger flash with a77 but cant do the Setting Effect thingy (or i just kenot find it)

The stratos one will wake up when half click shutter, the flash on top of trigger doesnt sad.gif
click the test flash button on transmitter , i see green light on receiver but the flash wont fire.
i'll try the WL mode, ty notworthy.gif

Happy CNY everyone laugh.gif

shot the 2nd pic at 6400iso f/1.8 - 1/10s (should be pretty dark) without af luminance assist thingy with a700, shouldnt be problem wiv newer bodies biggrin.gif
*also f/1.0 to f/2.8 is about 3stops

D7100 just announced, from rumors site doesnt seem sony coming up any alpha dslr/t for now , apart from the 50 1.4 ZA , really hoping for a 85 1.8 sad.gif
the d7100 said to have OLED VF, is it OVF with something like the fujifilm or another name for EVF ? hmm.gif
